Wedding Woes

*grumble*

I came in this morning ready to do some quick banking, and see a $634.30 transaction made online that I did not make. 

WTF?  So I had to cancel my debit card, file a claim and sit on the phone for 20 minutes.  All before 7:30.  Not how I wanted to start my day.  :(  BUT, Wells Fargo was more than helpful and when they say "7-10 days" for a card, I know it'll be more like 5. 

*sigh*

I suppose my spending will be curtailed for a few days.  Couldn't hurt me.

    eewww,  Hopefully that's the only charge.
  • ugh - 7-10 days for a new card? even 5 is a lot. 

    glad you were able to catch it quickly, but it's a hassle to go through. 

    (Both of us had our primary cards compromised - DK in December, mine in Feb. We were OOT both times that we found out. Chase was awesome - they flagged both of them for us, and had new cards out within 1 business day. DK's situation was worse because we were in Mexico when we found out - he was purchasing me jewelry, and called to notify that a larger charge was going through (to prevent a fraud flag). He was told that they had already placed a hold on the account because the account was compromised. Luckily he was able to authorize the jewelry purchase before they closed the account completely.

    This just happened to me over the weekend!  Someone tried to buy $6k worth of car parts with my AMEX over the weekend, and I talked to AMEX last night after getting a call notifying me of the charge.  AMEX put a hold on my account and now they are going to monitor my account for a few weeks.  So frustrating!  Though I have to give AMEX a lot of credit - my new card arrives tomorrow, and they didn't even allow the charge to hit my account.  I am glad those fraud prevention measures actually seem to work.     
  • Also, I DID NOT DO THIS!!  ;)  Since I didn't get a skin suit and all.  :D
  • I hate wells fargo. It's a bad company. 

    Every time i see the name I have to grumble about it
