Mayernik Center

Hi Ladies! Thanks for the recommendations on my last posting.. I recently came across the Mayernik Center and we are going to check it out tommorrow.... and I'm really hoping that we love it! I emailed Betsy's Barn (took over a week to email me back) and I've emailed the Atrium and haven't gotten a reply so far.  I really like that Suzi the Mayernik coordinator is so responsive!   If anyone happened to have their ceremony/reception there, did you have a good experience with them? How many guests did you have? Is there anything that you didn't like about the site? Did you end up just using the 5 hours for the reception and not purchasing the extra hour? Sorry for the twenty questions....I'm really looking forward to your input!

I am not having my wedding there, and I'm not sure if any "regular" posters are. Some of the married ladies come around every so often, so one of them may be able to help you! GL!

I think amianne is using mayernik... you might want to PM or page  her (by making a new post with  her name in it so she sees it)

    Hi pitt!
Yes we are getting married there July 30! Yikes it's coming so fast! I was actually there just today around noon.  When you go tomorrow, don't be alarmed.  There is ice everywhere so park at the far end of the building and cross the other bridge and WALK IN THE SNOW!! They had a water main break a little while ago and all the water froze over!

Some things you asked about:  we are having around 180 guests and Shannon said it VERY comfortably seats 140-170...180 isn't squashed, but closer to 200 and people are getting a little squashed in.  200 is the max anyway, so keep an eye on your guest list!
So far, I LOVE EVERYTHING about the Mayernik.  It is gorgeous and very well laid out.
We are having our ceremony at the Mayernik as well as our reception, so we did go ahead and book an extra hour.  We wanted that extra bit of time and also, I wanted that special day to last as long as possible!  We also rented the Miller Hall and Pavilion so that we wouldn't have to worry about other people booking it and having to go short on parking or competing with other party's music, etc.  It's a few extra hundred, but I think it will be worth it in the end.

I'm going to say right now, if you have any inkling you want to get married there, BOOK!  It goes fast and they usually have a year waiting list.  We got lucky, the day we booked (last march), there was a cancellation that morning and we snagged it right away!  So don't lolly gag with it!

    Hope this helps!
    Good luck and Congrats!
