Gift for wedding planner/coordinator/decorator?

A friend of mine is acting as planner/coordinator/decorator for my wedding (she has done them before and does a GREAT job!).  She is doing this for FREE.  I want to get her a gift for all of her hard work since she won't let me pay her. She is a single mom to 4 boys and we live in a small town not close to much of anything - no spa's closer than an hour or so away, most larger chain restaurants are also 45 minutes to an hour away...  Any thoughts on what I could get her?  I thought about a gift cert to Michael's (she makes wreaths and other crafty things all the time) but I'm not sold on the idea yet.  I also thought about a nice bottle of wine - but I'm not sure what she would like.  I know she likes mixed drinks but I'm not sure about wine.

  • I'd get her some booze you know she likes, a small gift card to micheals, and a small framed picture of the two of you on your wedding day.

    Anniversary
  • A single mom with 4 boys?  How about a babysitter and a night away.. for whatever she enjoys... crafting fair, movie, dinner, or whatever.

I have a friend that is a SAHM and their husband got them a hotel room and watched the kids so she could just get a good nights sleep and watch TV by herself- which she thought was AWESOME. LOL.

  • A gift card to a store or restaurant she'd enjoy would be a nice gesture.
  • I would worry that a gift card to Michael's would be seen as a gift card to spend on your wedding decorations. If you give her a gift card to there, write a little note that says how you know she loves crafts.

I probably wouldn't give it to her until the Day of or the day before the wedding so she couldn't use it for the wedding if she wanted! lol :)
  • Gift card to a spa
Small town in the middle of nowhere...not even sure where the nearest spa would be...at least an hour or more away :(
  • I would not go with the Michael's card, too much like her work and not a thank-you.  I know there are companies like Omaha Steaks that deliver, and with boys, that would probably be appreciated along with a few bottles of good wine.  You could even make her a spa basket (bath salts, bubble bath, skin care products, etc.) that she could use to pamper herself with at home.
