Help Finding a Dress / Bridal Shop

I've found a dress that I really like from Collette Dinnigan, but her shop is headquartered in Australia. I live in Colorado, and I'm having trouble finding a bridal shop that carries or can acquire her dress. The shop doesn't necessarily need to be in Colorado, even within the States would be nice! If you've found the designer before the bridal shop, how do you search for shops that carry that designer? I've tried searching online, and I've even tried contacting Kleinfeld's (because of their reputation, I thought that they may be able to acquire it, but no dice).

Re: Help Finding a Dress / Bridal Shop

  • have you tried to contact them to see if they have any shops in the usa that carry her designs.

i was just on her website and it looks like you can get her clothing in the usa there is a find a stocklist link but unfortunately her bridal gowns are not available in the usa

these are just some that are similar morilee has five different bridal lines with one of them being for plus sizes

i would try to find salons that have dress that look similar to collette dinnigan and go from there

  • Sorry - it looks like her bridal line doesn't distribute to the US. You could try emailing to see if they can ship you a dress, but I would guess that if they let you, it will cost a pretty penny.

But to answer your other question, the designer's site will usually have a "Stores" or "Stockist" or something similar tab where you can search for salons near you that carry the designer's lines.

  • It is really not a good idea to choose a dress from photo-shopped anorexic models in tortured poses.  Most brides find that when they actually try on what they were certain was going to be their dream dress, it isn't as special as they thought.  My daughter was disappointed in her dream dress.  She chose a very different dress from a different designer, and looked "Oh,WOW!"
Wait until you can try on dresses at a bridal shop.  Don't be surprised if you can't find many of the dresses you see on line.  Keep an open mind, and try different styles.  You may be surprised what you find!
