I don't have dress regret and for some reason that surprises people. So I was wondering did / do you have dress regret?

Re: Dress Regret

  • I haven't gotten the dress yet, but my plan once I do is to absolutely stop looking at dresses. Does anyone think that could cut down on regret?

I think it could. When I bought my dress I looked at others (bud did not try any on) while my bridesmaids were looking for their dresses and I started to re-think my choice because I saw others that were pretty. I ended up trying my dress on again and was still just as in love with it as I was when I got it. I stopped looking and I had my first fitting not too long ago and I still love my dress and think it is perfect for me. I have had my dress for a year already.

Absolutely. I didn't regret my dress, but I was nervous about the fit since I was between sizes and when they clip them, they always hug the perfect places.
  • When my dress first came in and I excitedly put it on, I had MAJOR dress regret.  I'd lost a few pounds and it hung on me like a sack.  It was awful.  I cried and started looking up "better" dresses online.

But they let me immediately exchange it for a smaller size and then I loved it again!
  • Not an ounce!! My dress is a million percent "me". Anytime I have shown someone a picture on my phone they instantly say "that is so you!"

Yeah that will definitely help. I mean you might see something and think that is gorgeous. But think of it like looking at hot guys, you can look but don't touch!

  • I voted yes, but wanted to clarify. After I ordered my dress, in the months between ordering and it arriving, I kept looking at magazines and seeing all these other dresses. I didn't see any I LOVED, but it definitely made me question my decision. Perhaps regret is the wrong word, but I was unsure.

Until my dress arrived, and I put it back on. Oh my gosh. No regrets at all. :-)
  • I had a bit of regret in between when I bought my dress and when it was altered to fit me. Looking at other wedding blogs was definitely not helpful! But as soon as I tried it on after it had been hemmed and taken in, I fell in love. I looked like a princess and felt fabulous. So no long-lasting regrets.
  • Not at all!!  I am so in love with my dress. When I found my dress I stopped looking at wedding dresses. I can't wait to wear it. I honestly can't picture myself in any other dress.

  • I bought mine very early on, so my dress regret was not waiting for the latest fashions.  Although the dress is very me and at the right price, I started lusting after the illusion necklines.

There was one dress that I was dying to try on while simultaneously trying to justify another 2 grand out the door.  I showed FI a picture of it on Pinterest and his reply? .... "Um.... it looks like lingerie." (It was a Watters with tulle skirt, illusion and lace top.)

Dress regret over! Thank God I asked him. Would have wasted a lot of money otherwise! (My actual dress is very non-lingerie-ish.)

  • I bought a dress extremely early on and regretted it. It was on super sale as the store was closing, so it was a great deal.

I only lost out about $800 instead of the full price. I bought a new gown recently and have completely stopped looking. The first dress was just lacking for me.
