Too much work!

Okay, today is my eighth straight day of work. I have another half day tomorrow and then I get two and a half days off but I am struggling to get there. I'm feeling really on edge and of course we're having computer problems and our tech guy is nowhere to be found.

Anyone else having a tough time at work? Or have any puppy gifs to make it all better?

Re: Too much work!

  • Not work, but school. Final projects and everything are due in the next few days.

Here's a puppy gif for you:

  • I had a shitty moment earlier. I have to play receptionist for an hour and a half every other day, and I had a parent get nasty with me while I was out there. I wanted to yell, "This isn't even my actual JOB, so get out of my face!"
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

@vulpiepop I remember those fun days getting through final projects. Good luck to you!

@AddieCake I know exactly what you mean- I spent half my time yesterday helping out in another department and everyone was frustrated that the dept wasn't ready. Why are you taking this out on me when I have nothing to do with this mess?

Eek! Eight consecutive days of work should be illegal. I have a friend who's working two jobs and was up to 68 hours by today. I am bringing her lots of wine tomorrow.

I am having an incredibly rough time at work. Management has caused just about everyone to hate their jobs, so the environment is so toxic I can't even stand it. I walk into the office thinking, "La dee da, I'm going to make it a GREAT day!" And then, an hour later:

  • Blech, sorry you're stuck working so many days in a row =(

This is a tough time of the school year for me- on one hand, we've only got 24 more days and I'm so proud of how my kiddos have grown and worked hard, BUT they all (the whole school, in fact) check out (partly because of spring and graduation-itis), which make my days living heck =(

  • @elcab You're a good friend for bringing her wine- sounds like you need some too! I know finding a new job is something easier said than done, but is that something you're looking into?

@aspoonfullofsugar I come from a family of teachers (mom, stepmom, stepsister and maternal grandmother) so I understand the post-spring breakitis that everyone seems to catch this time of year. Just keep counting those days down!
  • I posted a thread about my crappy work day on E earlier this morning.

In IT-related news, apparently IT decided the best way to fix my computer (which was having issues with Adobe and nothing else) was to uninstall and reinstall EVERYTHING on the machine -- meaning I lost ALL of my bookmarks, contacts, saved messages, etc. They've spent most of the day bringing stuff back from wherever it was, but I'm still furious.

    Oh, and Adobe still doesn't.fucking.work.

  • @hisgirlfriday13 undercooked bacon+no coffee+standing in heels= me going crazy. I wouldn't have blamed you if you did go all hulk on those people. And is their some sort of conspiracy of tech guys? I know there must be people in this world who are good at IT but I have yet to meet one in my working experience.

@Simky906, I'm not going anywhere for now. Before the change in management, this job was great for me. I still like it, the constant negativity just makes things really tough. I keep crossing my fingers in hopes things will get better. Until they do, I just keep overdosing on coffee and counting down to the honeymoon/vacation!

I am lucky since my immediate supervisor is (mostly) awesome, so at least there's that.
