2 weddings same day

Are family has 2 people getting married the same day, Big family fight over whom should go to witch wedding. Both people refuse to change there date. its to the point some are saying they are going to none, just to keep the peace. i cant talk to anyone without this coming up and i really not made up my mind what im doing. this is not even happening until october and I really dont want to hear about it for the next 6 months. I dont even know how to decide where to go. We have a big family, i mean my mom had 9 brothers and sisters and my gram has 34 grandchildren so its not like this was not bound to happen sometime.

Re: 2 weddings same day

  • Why didn't both people who were getting married tell each other about their dates?  I would go to the one who you are close with.  It obviously depends on who is getting married.

Actually, it was only bound to happen if people didn't consult your large family before picking a wedding date.

Either y'all are close enough that you should have done so, or you're not. If you're not, then people will choose to attend the wedding of the person they feel closer to.

Stay out of the drama by just avoiding.

no... he is still cooking. My patience is wearing thin with this lil dude. Induction day is wednesday. But I am hoping he comes before then.
He's had 40 weeks. His cooking time is over. He needs to come out now.
My friend is at 41 weeks right now and is like entirely DONE with this pregnant thing.

Anyway, OP, as someone who has two other family weddings this year (one is three weeks before ours, and is across the country), I've got to say I'm surprised that this happened.

In the meantime, if the subject comes up, just say, "I'd rather not talk about this. The situation is very frustrating, and I'd rather not have my potential RSVP for either wedding fuel the debate even more." When the deadlines are actually approaching, make your decision. You are totally fine going to one wedding instead of the other, going to neither, or trying to make parts of both (if that's possible, which it very well may not be).

Hey be grateful- my friend is currently on hospital bedrest and about to deliver at 30 weeks. She's already been in the hospital for 3 weeks and they won't even let her walk down the hallway (it's bed or wheelchair).

What happened to your ticker @katwag?  I feel like the last baby comparison fruit mentioned was a jackfruit. . . . which cracks me up, because who the heck even knows what a jackfruit is or how big it is!!!

Good luck on Wednesday, or whenever you deliver before then!  Wishing you a speedy delivery!!!

I have a friend that went about 2 weeks over because she didn't want to be induced, she was all natural all the way. . . . silly, silly woman who had a giant healthy baby.

@jenna8984 I am so sorry to hear about your friend. I am sure bedrest (in a hospital no less) woudl be awful

@kaos16 I took the ticker down on Tuesday. (I added a picture of my fur baby since his life is about to get turn upside down)  I was frustrated that I was going (way) past due. I also have no idea what a jackfruit is. And I am terrfied to google it. I am hoping this lil dude decides to join the world before wednesday. I am going stir crazy. I can only clean and reorganize my house so many times.

  • Because I also do not know what a jackfruit is:

The jackfruit (Artocarpus heterophyllus, also known as jack treejakfruit, or sometimes simply jack or jak)[6] is a species of tree in the Artocarpus genus of the mulberry family (Moraceae). It is native to parts of South and Southeast Asia, and is believed to have originated in the southwestern rain forests of India, in present-day Kerala,TamilNadu, coastal Karnataka and Maharashtra.[7] The jackfruit tree is well suited to tropical lowlands, and its fruit is the largest tree-borne fruit,[8] reaching as much as 80 pounds (36 kg) in weight, 36 inches (90 cm) in length, and 20 inches (50 cm) in diameter.[9]

Also, I think the ticker is WRONG. At least I hope so, for @KatWAG's sake:

@hisgirlfriday13 what are you trying to do to me? That is the scariest thing I have even seen. My vag is crying.

  • @KatWAG, I am trying to startle the little dude into coming out to play! Also, I really wanted to know what a jackfruit was. And now I know NEVER to trust the 'your baby is the size of' things ever again.

Hmmm...perhaps another example of "I do not think that means what you think it means...."

Or at least I am hoping so for KatWAG's sake!

  • That is a thing of horror, @hisgirlfriday13. That has just guaranteed I will never have kids. FI will be most disappointed.
  • @KeptInStitches, I'm sorry!

Just remind yourself that the ticker was wrong. After all, it's an item of technology from TK. I think we all know how reliable TK technology is....

I am really glad I cancelled my ticker, I shutter to think what 41 weeks would equate to.

42 weeks is perfectly normal.  I've been induced.  I highly recommend avoiding it if there is no medical reason.

no baby should ever be compared to a jackfruit again......EVER!  Maybe a preschooler, but not an infant!
