Need Help with BM Gift Idea

Okay, strange request but does anyone have a clever way I could ask my bridesmaids for their shoe size? As part of their BM gift I thought it would be fun to get them some cute/comfy flip flops they could change into at the reception instead of having to wear whatever heels they choose all night. I went to a wedding a couple weekends ago and my feet were so happy when I changed from my heels to flip flops half way through the ceremony, so that's when I got the idea. I'm just not sure if there's a non-awkward way to ask them their shoe size without giving away what this is for. I'd like it to be a surprise, but I've been starting to wonder if I should just spoil that part of their gift and keep everything else a surprise. Thanks for any input!

    There really is no way to discretely ask shoe size.

    I would probably just ask them.  I think asking for a shoe size from a close friend shouldn't be weird!

    Also, when I am a BM, I always have my comfy shoes on me to change into.  So this may be an extra expense that you can save some money on.  And not everyone wears flip flops, so make sure all of your girls wear them before purchasing them.

    Yeah, I had a big feeling that the only way to do this would be to just flat out ask them.

    You bring up an excellent point! I didn't really give that much thought that they might not wear flip flops, I just figured most of them did, but it's definitely a good idea to be sure. I don't want my bridesmaids to not like their gifts.

    Just ask them their shoe size. I wouldn't mind that as a gift; they always come in handy.

    I wouldn't wear them.  I do wear flip flops, to the beach, to take the trash out, when I was pregnant and my feet swelled, etc.  I do not wear them to dance.  So while I would probably use them I would not wear them at the reception.
