Wedding Woes

Morning

How was the weekend?

Ours was mainly busy and I hurt most of it.

Saturday am was shopping.  If M2 ever goes missing I'm looking for the woman that works in the liquor store.  She loooooooves M2 and M2 loves her.  Saturday we even saw pictures of her dogs (If Max ever goes it's the woman that works in floral at Meijer).

Then lunch with ILs and tee ball practice and home for dinner.  DH picked a good birthday meal and 6let picked an awesome cake.  I also picked out all the right gifts.

Sunday we spent the day in the yard.  I kid corralled and tried not push through the pain.  6let was actually a big help to DH.

I'm calling the doctor today.  I don't want to spend life feeling like this.  It's a busy week though.  We have a big speaker Wednesday and we're supposed to go out of town Friday.

Re: Morning

  • We planned to start spring cleaning, but husband's allergies were so bad that he could barely function, so we sat around and had a Machete order Star Wars marathon.

  • Weekend turned out better than expected.

Friday, we took DefConn to get a haircut (we took off 2 in!) and then came home and just relaxed the rest of the night.

Saturday, I ended up going to Chicago with my mom and sister for my cousin's shower.  We also stopped in a my older sister's BFF's daughter's bday party.  We took a drive through the neighborhood we lived in before we moved here (almost 17 years ago).   The neighbors who lived behind us still live in there (we saw the dad).  It was a new neighborhood when we lived there (our house was the second one built) and now it's established, which is crazy.

Sunday, we went to the IL's for my nieces bday party.
  • Saturday we were supposed to drive to Jersey (four hours, one-way) to see a college friend of mine who's in from Scotland, but after the week I had last week AND the fact that I can't stand his wife, we bagged it.

We mostly spent Saturday cleaning out DH's grandmother's basement, which was a clusterfuck of a disaster. Then we had a pizza/wings/beer/movie night with a friend, and that was fun.

Sunday was religious ed, which went well and we only have one class left, thank God. DH went to work and I went for a 3-mile walk, then came home, changed clothes, went grocery shopping, came home again, made a vegetable lasagne and chicken salad (two separate meals), and relaxed.

ALL of our weekends in May were booked LONG before May got here, so I was enjoying this being our 'down time' weekend.

I'm gonna go with 'not my circus, not my monkeys.'
  • Baseball and yard work, mostly.

I did a little shopping by myself, which was nice.

Our yard looks so much better.  We weeded and spread mulch for several hours Sat and Sun.  Son mowed and I worked on my outdoor project.  I hope to finish it up tomorrow when DH is off work.
  • It was good. I spent a lot of time out and about. It's starting to get kinda warm but the weather is pretty.

  • Weekend was tiring. Had dinner parties at our place both Sat and Sun. DD had her first swimming lessons and was having a LOT of fun. She wasn't the scaredy kid in the class. At least not this time ;)

Still recovering from SF trip. Got all my training and business done, still managed to do quite a bit of sightseeing for half a day's worth of free time to do so. Of course it helped that it was just me and I had no whiny people in tow ;). So I can do/consume all the things I can't convince anyone else to do (or they do it grudgingly)

  • I conquered Laundry Mountain.

It also just now took me a good 30 seconds to remember how to spell mountain.

    That is all.

    morning.
We mostly did nothing, other than family dinner w/ the ILs yesterday.
    I'm OK w/ that :)
  • We had my GD's 3rd birthday party, she loves Jake!  I also helped DD move out of 3rd floor college apartment into our house for the summer and my legs feel like they are going to fall off today.

pkat, I was thinking about you this weekend (not creepy, I swear) and wondered how you were doing.  Random, I know.

Weekend was okay---busy helping friends move on Saturday, Sunday was a lot of nothing.

I hope this week goes better.  That pretty much sums up my entire weekend, hiding from last week.
