Big Changes.... help!!!!

Ok the fiancé and I have changed everything  the wedding date from 12/13/14 to 09/01/214 and we were getting married in the in laws back yard but it just wasn't us.  We absolutely love Las Vegas and despite the moans and groans of others we've decided to go this route.  We want something simple and small  but extremely fun we're  leaning toward an in suite ceremony/reception for about 15-20 people.  We are on a budget because we're looking into buying a home also.  I would love any ideas on in suite receptions that you guys may have.

Re: Big Changes.... help!!!!

  • What kind of budget, and are you wanting to do a full hosted meal/drinks in the suite?

  •  @vegasgroom Small budget of $3500.  More on the side of cake, drinks (alcoholic and non alcoholic) and dancing and maybe some light appetizers.  I'm afraid we won't be able to pull this off :(.

We had a party in our Vista Suite at Mandalay Bay. We were able to feed and hydrate 43 people for about $1500. We had Masterpiece Cuisine cater six different heavy apps so everyone could have a variety of food, and then we went to Albertson's and bought alcohol, soda, coffee, iced tea, and lemonade. We filled the bathtub with ice and put everything in there. Everyone was able to fix their own drink or grab a bottle of beer; though, in retrospect, I might have hired a bartender.

Anyway, the suite was $650, the catering/alcohol was $1500, and we spent about $100 to rent some extra high-boy tables, chairs, and uplighting. You can totally do it for $3500 if that's your reception budget.

We ended up having some leftovers, including alcohol, so we sent that back with our WP, siblings, and parents. It worked out great.
  • We are having an in suite ceremony and reception in April at the Cosmopolitan for 15 people. Firefly is catering 7 heavy apps and two desserts for 900. We are doing our own booze and the cake is 250. Our officiant, Julie Nourish is 150. We are also having a photographer, flowers, and Elvis. It's doable with your budget!!

  • @shoebunnie how did you get the booze and catering handled?
  • My husband bought the booze I think at Lee's and Firefly delivered the food to the suite. It went very smoothly. He paid less than $800 for a couple bottles of wine, rum, 2 different vodkas, whiskey, amaretto, a case of beer, mixers, and 5 bottles of Perrier Jouet champagne. He used our large suitcases to bring the booze into the room. I considered a bartender but with the size of our group it wasn't necessary. Firefly was great to work with and the food was fantastic. Where are you considering having your ceremony/reception?
