I'm planning a visit to my reception venue while its setup for a wedding and I was wondering if anyone has done this? If you have, did it help you get ideas for the decor of your reception?

    Yes there happened to be a wedding ending when I first came to look at it. They were having it in a different room than I'd be using so it wasn't necessarily directly useful, but I suppose it was better than if the place was empty. Take like a hundred pictures. More pictures than you think you'll need. Later you'll be wondering about exact details and you'll be annoyed if you don't have pics :) 

    Please do not wander around someone else's wedding taking pics though. Go before or after.

    Definitely take a lot of pictures. I thought that I remembered everything and I was telling the linen rental company what the chairs looked like. Well she ended up calling the venue and having them send her a picture and they didn't look anything like what I said. I did have the color right though. LOL

    I haven't seen my venue set up for a wedding because they don't really use it for weddings so I kind of had to wing it. If you can see yours set up for a wedding that would be a good idea.

    the catering manager is letting me come before. But im still gonna dress nicely in case I see someone from the wedding itself
