Getting married in Sept 2014 in Vegas, but haven't booked anything yet!

We are not going to have enough money to book anything until July. Do you think this is going to be a problem? I really want to book a hotel chapel and a block of 5-7 rooms. But I'm afraid nothing is going to be available. :(

In my personal opinion, it could be depending on your standards! I always ask my friends what the rush is in getting married if you don't have the cash? We have been saving for 2 years for our wedding :) We'll be together 10 years when we finally get hitched.

If you aren't too fussy about your venue and you don't have specific suppliers you 'must have' then you will be fine!
  • We just set a date last week, but we are getting married in 6 weeks! We are in the process of booking everything now- since Friday, we have booked the ceremony, reception venue, photographer, string quartet, hair/makeup, limo, and ordered invitations (did expedited delivery- will be in by Friday). There is a still a lot to do (we had already purchased my dress- getting it altered now- and rings), but it can be done. The only issue we have really had regarding availability is finding a photographer, but we were able to find someone good- but will be more than we originally included in our budget. I think the most important thing is to do a lot of advance research regarding potential vendors, venues, etc. You might want to set your budget and start finding vendors and venues you like in your price range. That way, you will be able to make the decisions when the time comes.
  • we booked everything 7 months out and they were already filling up at that time

We booked our ceremony and reception site about 8 months out and ended up having to go with a Friday wedding date because the Saturdays around us were booked already. If you are flexible with the day, I think you will be fine!

  • We booked things 13 months out and several recommended photographers were already booked.  Fortunately we used Mike L and were extremely happy so it became a non-issue.

Married in Vegas - June 2011

  • We have been engaged for almost 3 years, trust me, this is not rushed. We were supposed to get married in June but both of us got laid off last year and we had to postpone. All of our money we had saved for the last 2 years for our wedding had to go to living expenses. We are both finally working again, with really good jobs and the first thing on our priority list is to go get married. That's why the tight time frame.
  • don't worry myriah505...if we waited until we "got enough money" we would never get married LOL!!! shoot i'm selling Detergent to help out with costs! What i would do is email each person you are interested in and checking to see what dates they have available

Yes and no.  There are a tons of wedding vendors, chapels and reception sites.  You will be able to find one, but your first choice in time, place or date might need to be altered a little.  If you are looking for a Saturday you might be SOL, or you might find yourself having a 10 am wedding.  It depends on what exactly you have in mind and what your must haves are.  If you are looking for a nice chapel in a hotel, with a room block and dinner at a near by restaurant but aren't set on specifics, more flexible then you are fine.  If you are willing to get married during the week I think you will have more luck as well.  We are waiting on some things and are having a lot of luck with vendors because we are getting married on a Wednesday.  The hotels and vendors are much more accommodating during the week.
  • Your first choices might not be available, but there is a chapel in almost every hotel, I'd think SOME would be available 2 months out, you just may need to be more flexible with time of day and the exact location.

Heck, we planned my sister's wedding in 10 hours (her and her H woke up Sunday after my wedding and decided to get hitched in Vegas that evening while some of our family was still in town) and while it wasn't at a hotel the Little Church of the West chapel was lovely!
