  Well, has anyone offered to throw you an engagement party?  If not, you do not get an engagement party (pre-wedding parties should not be thrown by the couple).  Also, everyone invited to pre-wedding parties must be invited to the actual wedding; so if someone does throw an engagement party for you, you might want to keep it down to your VIPs that you know you will invite.

  This is none of your concern. If someone chooses to throw you one, they'll figure it out.

  Did OP completely change her post?  First it's something local, now it's about timing of the engagement party?
