Venue for 50 people

Hello all...

I am looking for a venue that accepts a minimum of 50 people where I can have a DJ and dancing, which basically eliminates a restaurant.  We would like to have a quick ceremony and a party afterward.  Nothing fancy; just fun with delicious food.  Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated!

Re: Venue for 50 people

  • Where are you? Go ask on your local board. Check with larger restaurants, too. Some might have banquet facilities that could accommodate dancing.

  • Where are you from/having your wedding? I am from Delaware and have only about 75 guests. We have been running into trouble finding a venue where we aren't over the max, or don't meet the minimum. One of the venues we thought would be perfect in Ocean City Maryland could only accommodate about 20 people for the ceremony, 40 people for the reception, 50-80 if you booked the 2nd "formal" dining room (which was a big disappointment from the pics to the actual venue), no dance floor/bar unless we had our ceremony at 11:30am, a luncheon in their "formal" dining room, and then moved down to their "main" dining area that has a full bar and place for either live music or DJ to set up....problem: we would "need to be out" by 4pm so that they could have their bar open up for the "regular" customers who enjoy their "nightclub." For some, a this time line might be ideal, for us, not so much. But to each his/her own.

  • Thank you...I'm new on here aI realized after I posted this that I was not on the Michigan board.  Can I delete this post and if so, how?
  • I'm not sure how to delete posts... I'm sorry :(
  • While I don't know anything about Michigan, here are some of my ideas:

Do check larger restaurants. I know that where I used to work, we could do a restaurant buyout that would accommodate up to 150 people.

Libraries and other government-buildings could be fun! Other museums or zoos or aquariums might work too if you're into that!

Parks or public areas if you want something outdoor (although they often do have community rooms too).

Do you have an idea of how many people that you will have? A "minimum of 50" is pretty vague: will you have 51? 75? 150? 300?
