NEY Wedding Nightmares...

Ugh. You guys I am lurking on this site way too much.

Last night I had a dream about my cockup of a wedding. Guests waiting from lunch till 1:30 am for the ceremony to start, no dress (dream me was devastated), hair's not done (mom started using a crimper), the ET theme was my entrance song, and my brother decided he was going to walk me down the aisle just as my dad and I got to the doors (but he had to take a shower first).

Oh and all the guests started shouting at my bf/fi/whatever when he tried to leave the podium to find me. It was....sweet?

Anyway. Yay dreams.

Re: NEY Wedding Nightmares...

  • I hate wedding nightmares! I've noticed that the things I dream about in my wedding nightmares are things I don't have done yet. Before I had my head piece, I would have dreams that I forgot it the day of the wedding or just forgot to buy one period. So i made my headpiece and havent had any more dreams about.  I had dreams that we forgot to make the centerpieces and so our tables were bare...so I made the centerpieces and stopped having that dream.  Now my wedding nightmares involve not having earrings (which isn't even a big deal) so I guess I need to find those, and my dress being too big as i'm getting ready for the wedding because I forgot to take it in for alterations. I still have to wait a couple months to have that done :\

  • @buddysmom80 it turned out great! I found a white headband and added the lace from my original headband to it, a fabric flower that I already had, and the netting.  The netting was hard to work at first but after I played with it for a little bit, I finally got it looking how I wanted it to.

  • I hate my first nightmare the other night where I lost my ring in the ocean and then it magically turned up sitting on a shell nearby.

  • I have wedding dreams every few days and in each dream something goes wrong.  FI had one about 2-3 weeks ago and I was like finally!! Now you get what I've been going through for the past year.

  • @peaseblossom55 FI finally had his first wedding nightmare about everything going wrong and I was so relieved that he finally understands what I deal with several times a week!! He hated it!

  • @severmilli12 it felt so much better when he finally had a bad dream about the wedding.  In his I was wearing a black wedding dress and he made a bad face about when he first saw me walking down the aisle and was worried it was captured on our wedding video.

  • LOL that dream was jammed packed with crazy, OP!  The ET entrance isn't something you'd enjoy?  ;)

I'm glad I'm not the only one that has nightmares.  I dreamt my dress looked like Kim Kardashian's from the 2013 Met Gala, the engagement ring had the diamonds pecked out my birds, and the florist and invites were completely WRONG.  FI dreamt I didn't even send the invites out and I was like "Oh?  Meh, I'll just call people or something" and he was so cheesed that I didnt care.

The other day I dreamt everything was wrong: My bridesmaids were late, the venue was wrong, guests were late, our officiant showed up early and our photographer didn't show at all....  My maid of honor jumped out of the car and handed me a black bouquet (not even close to what I want) and I took it and I was soooo happy.  I was getting married, life was great!  I woke up taking that as a very good sign.

  • I feel weird because I've had several wedding nightmares and I'm not engaged yet! They have happened in a very spaced out fashion in the past year or two and mostly have to do with BF's mother surprising us with a wedding. The main problem with this is that it is always in her taste and we have totally different styles (in everything) so it is not good.

I remember one where she threw us a wedding that was peacock themed with feathers everywhere. While I guess that could be done tastefully (no offence meant to anyone who wants a peacock wedding) but in the dream it was so tacky and the opposite of anything BF and I would want. I woke up and called BF in a semi-panic and said that we are not having a peacock themed wedding. He said "Good, because I don't want one anyway. Why did you call me to tell me that?" I love how he just rolls with the punches.

I have to say the weirdest part of that dream though was that BF's brother had had a sex change and was a girl. That bit threw me for a loop when I woke up!

  • I've had a few wedding nightmares - here's the location of my venue:

So - in my first my mom and I were fighting over something and she pushed me in the water with my dress on and it totally ruined my dress!!

    The second:
    This part really happened:
I'm planning on wearing flats while walking around and heels for the pictures and while at the location.  Somebody mentioned just wearing flats/wedges the entire time because the wood planks and heels getting stuck in between the planks.  Here's a picture:

So I had so much anxiety that in my dream FI and I decided to go for an early visit to see how bad it is  <<AWESOME idea, and I half way wonder if we could swing it - but probably not visit the parks, just the location and maybe go to Universal Studios?? -- Probably not in the budget; anyway back on topic>> so in my dream FI's brother came with us and he got lost in Animal Kingdom and we couldn't find him.  Then I saw my parents and it looked like they were doing some shady type business deal or something, they were super secretive on why they were there <<in reality my parents have been on vacation once in my lifetime, so in dream world, this was totally weird>>.  In dream-land, we never did find FI's brother.
