Jeweler Recommendations?

I am looking for recommendations for jewlers you may have used to design your ring and/or repair an heirloom ring?

    Greenan & Sons.  They have a location in Silver Spring, and also one in Springfield.  I went to their Silver Spring location for something, and they did a great job - they have (or at least had a couple years ago...) a really great jeweler on staff.

    Oh - I should mention - many people recommend Quest jewelers for custom pieces, and I'm sure they do great work on that (a lot of custom jewelry is made using a CAD program to cut wax molds - totally different process than making repairs...).

    I had them do some work on an heirloom bracelet for me, and they totally messed it up.  This was about 5 years ago - so maybe they've hired a better bench jeweler by now, I don't know, but I'd NEVER go back there again for any repair work.

    Greenan & Sons, I'll second that.  My fiance had my engagement ring custom made by them.  He went to them, talked to the jeweler about what he wanted and it came out amazingly beautiful.  and the people were great to work with as well!

    my FFIL is an engraver and has worked with them over many years.....this is where all of our wedding jewlery is from....

    a little bit of a drive, but well worth it...and shepherdstown is an adorable little day  trip!

    Charleston Alexander - Bethesda and Tysons.  I didn't see anything that jumped out to me, so they made a sketch and designed it for me...well for him, to give to me! :)
