  I'm still sick. I started Augmentin yesterday, but Augmentin is the cruelest joke to tonsillitis sufferers everywhere. I swear to god the pill is like the size of my pinky, and my tonsils are so swollen that I have an opening about the size of a dime at the back of my throat. My coworkers are working to get me out of here around noon, so I'm gonna go to a walk-in clinic in the hopes that they'll give me a steroid ass-shot to help with the swelling. I'd also appreciate some Lortab or Percocet because I think I'm close to overdoing it on the ibuprofen.

  I'm glad the week is over. This whole having to go to work even when I'm sick because we're so understaffed thing is for the damn birds.

  Oh Juche!    You sound miserable.  Augmentin is a devil pill.  I can't take it because it causes me major stomach issues (like it feels like my stomach is trying to turn itself inside out and fight it's way out of me at the same time).  I hope you get to leave and get the good drugs.

  I hate it because it makes my mouth chronically dry and makes a lot of things taste like metal, but I'd rather suck it up and take it for the one week and hopefully get over this so life can go on. I hate tonsillitis so badly, but I don't think I could swing a tonsillectomy because of my age and because I'd need to have at least a few days of recovery, which just isn't going to happen with work being like it is.

  it was a solid 2+ weeks for me, at 20. it's tough because it hurts to eat or drink anything, so living on what amounts to baby food for the first week or so just makes it even harder for your body to bounce back. 
  
  I feel you on Augmentin - I'm on day 3 of a 10 day cycle for my sinus infection. The asshats at urgent care wouldn't give me steroids or a bottle of hycodan, so I'm up half off the night coughing, and completely exhausted today. i should have just sucked it up and driven the extra ~24 mile round trip and paid 2x as much to go to the urgent care near my office. The doctor there is loose with his prescription pad, and does the in-office steroid and antibiotic shots.

  Icks.  I am hoping the weather holds out, stays cool and doesn't rain so I can run with H after work.  That is the highlight of my day.  I am such a dork, don't care though. 
  
  I'm having one of those days at work where I just don't want to talk to anyone for fear of them asking that I do something for them.  NO.  I want to do my own farking stuff, thanks.

  It's a new provider I'm going to today -- I don't have a PCP and have wanted to check out this practice for awhile because they're within biking distance of our house, and they also do peds for when we spawn, so I'll check them out urgent care and see how I feel about them. It's one female doctor and her female NP, so it sounds nice to me.
