    It's great that they all agree that you don't have your guests pay for dinner...but cash bars are perfectly okay over on WW. So weird.

    Why are they throwing their own engagement party anyway?  This sounds like they want it to be like the "Birthday Parties" we have with our friends.  "Hey everyone, we're meeting up Friday at 7pm at XYZ restaurant to celebrate Joe's birthday.  We might go bowling afterwards.  Join us if you can.  And let us know so we can get a big enough table for everyone."  Under those circumstances we're all aware that we'll be paying for our own meals and bowling if we choose to participate.  But hosting a party at a restaurant sounds like a completely different thing.

    If you do hold an engagement party at a strip club...do you have to offer to pay for lap dances? What's the etiquette there? Is it cool to just cover drinks and the buffet?
    You totally have to pay for the lap dances! You don't, on the other hand, have to pay for the boom boom room.

    FI threw me a birthday party at the strip club, and my friends bought me shots and lap dances, unsolicited. I was happy to pay the ladies working there. BUT, that was a birthday party, not an engagement party. I would geuss that different rules might apply.
    Also strip club buffets bleeeecccchhhhh, THE THOUUUUGGGHHHTTTTTT!

    I read that one earlier today. I was just left confused. If you are throwing your own engagement party, how does Adult Engagement Dinner clarify anything that she was concerned about? "Adult makes me think they will have blow up penises and a vag cake (ew. vulgar)  That whole site baffles me.

    That would be such a great name for a full-nude club. Well, it would also have the potential to be completely horrifying because you'd get people showing up for an actual taco bar, like a salad bar, and wondering why they're getting carded and having to hand over a cover charge.

    Someone just posted a thread about how to plan her own engagement party (which is apparently a thing you need to do 5 mos out from the wedding!). I responded that she shouldn't plan her own. Probably about to get yelled at. Forgot which site I was on...Ugh.
