Our colors are gray and purple (girls in gray dresses/groomsmen with gray vests/ties, flowers are purple)  Centerpieces are ivory colored lanter with ivory pillar candle in it ( http://www.pier1.com/Medium-Jeweled-Lantern---White/2755761,default,pd.html?cgid=lantern#start=1)   with small cube vases with purple hydrangeas on either side of lantern.    I've already printed menu's on an ivory paper mounted on a dark purple.   I was going to do the gray table clothes (it's a light gray) with white napkins...but will that look okay with the ivory lanterns/menus?   The menus will be folded like a pocket with the menu's placed in the pocket.

I would do gray table cloths and purple or ivory napkins.

I didn't really like their purple option..it was too grapey looking and I def don't want to pay to upgrade.  Ivory is an option, thanks!
  • I think the gray would be a great color for the table cloths, but make sure and add your pop of color. Add a purple table runner or bunch it up in the middle. Mix it with some lace fabric or add some purple flowers.
  • I agree with grey table clothes and purple to accent like napkins, if you're going to do a table runner, etc.

  • I bought the exact same lanterns in brown so I love your taste lol. Did you get candles yet? I just had to go return all mine because they were 6 inches high and then I opened the lantern and it says in it "do not use candles higher than 4 inches". So I got 3 inch ones in a glass jar from Dollar Tree that look perfect. I cut squares out of cardboard to put in the bottom of the lantern and glued the candle in place in the center so when I transport them to the venue they will stay in place. (the cardboard will be covered with fake rose petals around the candle). Just a heads up if you hadn't gotten your candles for them yet :)

I think the grey table cloth would be awesome. I wish my venue had a choice but they only have white/ivory clothes and colored napkins. Oh well, no biggie.

Great idea on the cardboard! Maybe i'll get some purple petals to go in the bottom.   I bought 3 x 4 pillar candles from amazon.
  • I agree with the grey table cloth. Most places come with the standard white or ivory so its nice to do color when you get the chance!
