Honeymoon?

This may have already been posted on this board - but I only went back a few pages when I found this group, so sorry if its already been done, but...

If you are going on a Honeymoon, where is everyone going?

My FI won a week in Breckenridge, CO on a men's retreat a few weeks after he proposed! When his name was drawn, all the guys were like "OOH!! Honeymoon!" I'm so excited to spend 7 days at this amazing house! http://www.vrbo.com/304432 and that all we have to pay for is food & entertainment!

With only 3 weeks until our wedding we STILL dont' have a honeymoon booked! We have been so undecisive on where to go and now there just hasn't been any time to figure it out. I'm really pushing for Greece, but it would def not be right after the wedding. I am hoping we can plan something for early fall at the latest.

No honeymoon for us. Not in budget. Were going to plan something for later, maybe at our 1yr anniversary.

We are going in August and we are taking a road trip to the east coast. He wants to see Niagara Falls, and I want to see Maine and Montreal. So I'm hoping that we can get passports soon enough. I have to apply for one anyways cause mine is expired, so I would rather wait until my name is changed and everything so I only have to do it/pay for it once. So that is our plan.

And @windie that cabin looks awesome!!! I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time there.

Hawaii! Two days on Oahu and 8 days on Kauai. We leave two days after the wedding. Cannot wait!!

Definitely good plan to wait a little on Greece. We originally wanted to go to the Greek Isles but our travel agent talked us out if it. She said if we wanted hot, sunny beach weather we'd be disappointed in May. Keep me posted if you guys book anything, I'm still determined to make that trip happen!

FI and I were going to take a honeymoon later in the year because we couldn't really get away from work for the wedding and the honeymoon. FI's friend's mom owns a condo in Hilton Head, SC and she called FI and told him we "HAVE" to take a honeymoon right after the wedding. He couldn't tell her no after she said she wanted us to use her condo for a week as a wedding present

We are leaving for Barcelona on May 22nd!! We're staying a few days, then taking a weeklong Mediterranean cruise to France and Italy then heading back to Barcelona for a few more days. So excited!!

Wedding is May 2 (tomorrow!!!) and we're leaving on May 12th for a week at the Sandals in Antigua. @ddvirts- I second that! Can't wait to lay on a beach and do nothing!

We're leaving for 10 days in San Diego a week after our wedding. We had wanted to do something beachy/international (well I did). But my parents are gifting us a week at a time share and we only started looking about six months ago. I still get my sunshine though and FI gets to go to a new baseball park.

We can't afford a honeymoon, and I'm not sure I could leave my kids that long, but we might spend the weekend in Atlantic City just to mini getaway.

Our honeymoon was the second thing we booked, right after the venue. We wanted to make sure we had the money for it! We're leaving the day after the wedding and spending a week on the beach in the Riviera Maya. I know a lot of people are anxious about traveling to Mexico but a family member who travels there a lot said as long as we stay on the golf side and don't venture out of the resort we shouldn't have any problems. So good thing we're going to an all-inclusive! And because we got such a great deal, we got the honeymoon suite!

St. Maarten at the end of the month! seriously counting down the days!

I figured waiting a few weeks for the honeymoon was a better idea than doing it right after. But now I hate being at work and just want to be on the beach with my hubs

i know what you mean! i almost started counting down how many more days of work (10 days & 1 hour!) instead of the days to my wedding!

We're not taking one either. Between our budget and having kids it made it harder. But we go on little weekend trips pretty often so it's no biggie. We're going back to Vegas in July then again hopefully in December then we'll be back in Vegas for our anniversary lol we love Vegas

Playa Mujeres, Mexico. All inclusive esort. Leaving 3 days after the wedding and cannot wait!

I am glad we are doing it right afterwards, otherwise I know we'd put it off and put it off. Lucky to have been at our jobs long enough to have ample vacation time saved up!

akopitzke, to the bolded: that area of Mexico is REALLY safe. It would be a shame to stay on the resort and not see Playa del Carmen, Tulum, etc. Feel free to PM me if you want more info. My FI is Mexican and I went to an AI in Playa del Carmen a couple years ago.

As for our honeymoon, we are not going until the end of July - 8 days in Sicily & Venice and then a Mediterranean cruise! We really weren't sure where to go, but we knew we couldn't go right after the wedding, and then I got an email with a crazy deal for the cruise and we were sold.
