Recommendations regarding Wedding Cake and Nail Salons

Wedding Cake- We need to find a bakery for our wedding cake. Any recent experiences with either Freed's or Peridot Sweets? Any comments regarding quality and pricing would be great. Nails- We would like to get our nails done the day prior to the wedding. Any recommendations for reasonably priced and clean nail salons on or near the Strip? Thank you!

We always get our cakes from Freeds. I've never had a bad experience with them. Our wedding cake is from there as well. 3 layers of yummy awesomeness.

@azwildcat another vote for Drago Sisters!! For nails... Someone on here had a bad experience with Polished Nails but I have a few friends who go there regularly and are happy with their work. They provide transportation (I think) so are popular with out of towners. My nail place is called LV Nails but is quite a ways from the strip, otherwise I would send you there for sure! I would check out Yelp for reviews, hopefully that will help.

Freed's is the classic bakery here in town. Peridot is one of the newest. Drago Sisters is fantastic, as is Retro Bakery. Are there any special requests about the cake - gluten free, vegan, unique flavor profile, booze, etc? That might help point you in the right direction.

@cirena166 No special requests, just white cake with whipped cream and strawberries. Just trying to find a cake that tastes good that isn't crazy expensive.

If you're budget-limited, really consider Albertson's. They've presented at a few bridal shows with really good-looking cakes. Simple flavors, nice decorations, budget-friendly.

When my husband and I got married in Vegas we were on a strict budget. I connected with Holly at Cake Azure and she was able to make the cake I wanted, in the flavor I chose for 50 people, delivered/setup for $250. It was gorgeous and tasty- If you're on a budget I would recommend contacting Holly.

We went with the Polished Nail. There were 6 of us and we were in and out in an hour and a half. We were very happy with their work and the prices were very reasonable as well- mani/pedis for $40. I would definitely go back there!

I did tons of research on different cake shops! I had a specific style in mind and was, determined to have it but either they couldn't do it or the price was too much, until I found drago sisters. They had great prices, great cakes and delicious flavors

I highly recommend them!

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! I'm still not sure regarding the cake- I'm checking around now with some of the bakeries. For nails we are going to try a salon at the Town Square called the Look Style Society. I'll post a review after my wedding.

peridot sweets was AMAZING....best cake i've ever tasted (we had vanilla with vanilla buttercream & dark chocolate with chocolate mousse) and she recreated a design I found online perfectly

We used Freeds for our wedding in '11 and again for 1st anniv in '12 and the cake tasted identical, so I think their consistency is good and that lets me say they'd probably still be a good bet now. What they don't have is good email communication, so if you really like to be able to email someone about the cake, status, confirmation, etc., it will be an exercise in frustration.
