DRESSES!!!

Hello everyone! I'm a 22 year old bride-to-be and my fiance and I are on an extremely tight budget. I'd like to keep my wedding dress under about $250 and I am interested in a variety of different styles. Does anyone have an idea of boutiques and shops I can go to for an adorable gown within my budget? Also, my bridesmaids are all totally different skin tones and body shapes--any ideas about where to find dresses for them under maybe $150? I am willing to travel (reasonably) but I am mainly in the Carrollton/Douglasville area and my fiance is in the Riverdale/Jonesboro/Stockbridge vicinity, if you're atlanta savvy you're aware that those are two totally different sides of town and I am willing to look at places on either side! Thanks!

David's Bridal will have dresses $250 and under, you can try looking at department stores at white prom dresses, and also you can look at white/ivory/champagne/blush bridesmaid dresses. That's where I would start.

Check out preownedweddingdresses.com or Tradesy. They sell used, sample, and new-with-tags wedding dresses.

Also, check out department stores. JCPenney, Dillards, and Macy's have white gowns that can be used for weddings.

For your bridesmaids, I'd suggest shopping at unconventional stores. I purchased my BM dresses at Macy's for about $100 each. Check Ann Taylor, LOFT, The Limited, etc. for some great BM dresses.

Nordstrom's bridal has gowns in both price points :-) and since prom season is wrapping up definitely check out clearance racks at your favorite stores (Off 5th Ave & Nordstrom Rack are great!)

On Nordstrom's website, the dresses have prices like $98-$2000 on one item..do you know the purpose of that?

I have purchased from ModCloth before on several occasions and I have not had any issues with shipping or the product.

When I was dress shopping I also went to the Brides Project, which sold dresses that had been worn and donated by brides. The dresses are more affordable and all the proceeds from the sales go to cancer charities. I don't know if there is something like this near you, but it could also be a great option.

David's bridal also has dresses that will fit your BM budget. Have your BM go on & try dresses on first just for colors. Then once you pick a color tell your girls to pick any dress that they like in comes in that color that fits their budget & style comfort. You can decide if you want them in all short or all long or whatever length you want. It does remove a lot of stress just focusing on color. Also for inexpensive BM dresses check out Target online. The price of their dresses are under $100 but over $50 so they would get free shipping. Also depending on what style of wedding dress you are looking for, Target even has a few very simple wedding dresses (just make sure you look at the BM too because some of those in white can look like a bridal dress). Also check facebook to see if you can find any buy/sell wedding item groups in your area. The one in my area people have gotten great deals on buying decorations & dresses after weddings took place and for weddings where dresses were bought but cancelled so the women are just trying to recoup some of their losses.

Have you looked up consignment or resale bridal shops? I'm not sure what she considers her store, but when I was dress shopping I went to Sunday's Bridal.
