Dining Suggestion for small "reception"

Hi, My fiance and I have decided to ditch Indiana and come to Vegas to get married since it's both of our second weddings.
We will have 8 people with us, 10 total. (Parents & Siblings) We wanted to take the group out for a nice dinner after the ceremony (Which at this point we are thinking the Luxor)

Does anyone have any dinner suggestions. Can be on strip or off (Not too far) as we are getting a limo for the evening.

We are looking for something in the $25 per person range.

Thank you!!!

  • With 10 people, you'll be able to order off the menu at most places, which can save you a lot. Is there a cuisine that you're thinking of?
If you like Italian, there are a number of delicious local options: Nora's (http://www.norascuisine.com/www/?page_id=51) and Capo's (http://www.caposrestaurant.com/) aren't far from the Strip.
If you're up for something more exotic, like Thai, Lotus of Siam is a James Beard award-winning spot on Commercial Center & Sahara. It's a little run-down area, but the restaurant was recently renovated and expanded.
There are a number of sushi spots in town, and quite a few that have good all you can eat sushi for around the $25/pp range. Yama Sushi on Flamingo is great but tiny, so call ahead. Osaka on Sahara is much bigger, has tatami rooms, and also does teppanyaki (live grill).
    Does that help at all?

Ditto. I would just book as a group, which is very common in Vegas, and refrain from using the words "wedding" and/or "reception". The second you do, they're going to want to stick you in a private room or semi-private area and charge you up the wazoo.
  • You have a lot of options!

We recently ate at Javiers in Aria (http://www.aria.com/dining/restaurants/javiers) - it was really good! Some of the best Mexican I have had! The décor is nice! We had 11 people and they gave us the private dining area with no minimums, maybe because it was sunday night.

  • I second Lotus of Siam... that place is amazing.  The area isn't much to look at, and I was skeptical when we drove up, but SO worth it!  And, there were a lot of large parties the night I went.  Best Thai food I've had.

  • Another vote for Lotus of Siam. The husband and I went the night after the wedding. Amazing food!

  • If you did want a private room you could use the Il moro at Canaletto, Venetian for no minimum charge just the cost of a set menu.
  • THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!! I didn't even think about the "Group" charging. And I will totally refrain from the words "Wedding/Reception"

Thank you ladies. A little harder to do from 1200+ miles away. But we are very excited.
  • The group may not do Lotus--- but WE WILL!! That's right up our alley. I just looked it up... yum.
  • If you eat at Lotus of Siam, you will NOT be disappointed.  We're flying to Vegas in August for some last minute planning, and we are planning a lot of our meetings around eating there!  So good!
