...and it's kind of a cluster.
-- I asked for a red wine list and the bartender suggested chardonnay. Uhm...not quite.
-- The hostess decided to split up our 15-person party at a table of 9, a table of 4, and a table of 2. That got sorted very quickly when assertive bitchy HisGirl said, 'Yeah, no, we're going to push these three tables together and all sit as a group.'
-- There's a 'band,' which is really a random assortment of instruments, none of which are playing the same song or tune or even in the same key.
I am having a lot of wine.
I'm gonna go with 'not my circus, not my monkeys.'
Re: So I'm at a bachelorette party...
Although I might have walked out at the wine stupidity.
I once went to a restaurant and asked the bartender what kind of red wine they had. She said, "Um. Cabaret."
Lmfao. Hisgirl, how did the party end up?
While still AT the restaurant, our food came out in waves, most of it wrong. My steak was med-well, not med-rare and I got no steak knife.
A random guy bought us drinks, but apparently only meant to buy them 'for the pretty girls, married or not, but not the ugly ones.' That went over about as well as you'd expect.
At the bar afterwards, one of the girls devised a list of 'things Bride should do.' My contribution was, 'Sing with the band.' The end other suggestions were along the lines of, 'let two guys do body shots off her.'
Y'all, this bride is early 30s, second marriage, mother of two. I'm probably being judgemental, but I was expecting something a little tamer. Also, the invite was for dinner, not dinner and bar-hopping, which had I known, I would have planned for.
And the other girls kept getting random dudes to buy the whole group (14 of us) shots, and since I had to drive, I didn't do them, which got me dirty looks from some of the girls. Oh, well.
I was texting DH while at the party, because he was with the groom, and THEIR party got kicked out of two bars, banned from one for good, and asked not to come back for six months.
My DH was fine and met me at home, but every guy other than DH and his best friend had their keys taken away, so then all the girls had to go collect their FIs/DHs, and based on FB, there was a lot of driving around retrieving cars this morning.
So it was a cluster.
Sorry it was such a cluster!!
