Is outside food and drink allowed at the Cosmopolitan or not??

We are getting married in October in a wrap around terrace suite and when I received the confirmation email, for our reservation, I noticed it says no outside food or drink allowed in rooms. But most rooms have kitchens complete with refrigerators, ovens and stoves. I called to try to clarify and the lady begrudgingly said we could bring groceries. We would like to make our own reception hors d'oeuvres. We both run restaurants and can't fathom the idea of paying huge in house catering fees for food we can very easily prepare (they charge $300 for a rotisserie chicken!!) We don't even want or hire a more reasonably priced outside caterer, we just want to buy groceries and prepare the food ourselves. Same with booze. We can't justify hiring a bartender for just 12 guests and ourselves. We aren't flashy people who like a lot of attention (hence the in-suite ceremony and reception) and we decided to go this route to avoid all the fuss. Has anyone tried this before? Or does anyone have any help information or suggestions? We'd greatly appreciate the feedback.

  • I am looking for the same information as well :-)
  • Thanks so much for the reply. A couple follow ups if you don't mind... So were you at the Cosmopolitan? How did you get the vendors in? I also just read, on another blog, that HRH and Encore sometimes search guests' bags. Any experience with this?
  • Thank you so much for the info! Congratulations to you and have a great weekend :)
