Do you really want to be like Kimye?

Faux-lebrity news on the radio this morning was abuzz with the rumor that Kim K's step-brother, Brody Jenner, will not be attending her and Kanye's wedding this weekend. Why would he miss such a spectacle? He's too offended that they did not invite his girlfriend of 7 months, and is abstaining in solidarity with her.

Remember this when you consider inviting one of your cherished guests without their significant other! Don't be like them!

  • I literally started shaking my head and said, "nope!" when I read your title. If there are any snowflakes still floating around from that blizzard, maybe they will see this.

  • I heard that on the radio this morning, I was like "Oh! I hope TK knows about this!" the DJs were rolling their eyes. I mean, you couldn't see it of course, but you could hear it in their voices.
  • I instantly thought of all of you when I heard this this morning!

  • FI and I shared a wedding date with Kimye. Hopefully, that's the only thing we have in common. Our guests all got plus ones.
  • i saw this on the  news last night.    Reports say they are inviting 1000 people to what we know is a DW.   They have more money than they know what to do with.  Not inviting your own step-brother's SO is a big slab in the face.    Would be at most wedding, but this one is really is because space and money are not issues.

The only thing I agree with is their ban on social media.  Now I know they might  have exclusive rights with some publications, so I'm sure there is a money involved.  I think it's tacky for friends/family of celebrities to profit (monetarily or otherwise) off of their relationship.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • I'm not a fan, never was.  Even less of a fan after what Kanye had done to that lovely Hermes he gave her for Christmas.

i'm sure if anyone asks them about the slight there will be a "well we have to be REALLY selective becuse of SECURITY CONCERNS" aka "our situation is super special and unique and so the rules don't apply to us." Unless Brody's GF has physically assaulted a member of the family, this whole thing is nonsense, and I'd be offended and leaking this information to the press just like they did. Anyone remember when it came out that she had to UNINVITE people from her last wedding because of SECURITY CONCERNS/"we forgot to inlcude the paparazzi that we invited in the guest count and now we've got a fire code violation on our hands?" What a peach. And if you think this is wrong but it's totally fine for her to be having multiple PPDs, you're just as bad as she is. :-)

Don't you know, they're paying for this themselves! They can't afford to have just anyone show up for a free meal! She'll probably just get drunk on their dime!

I am always weary with women who have a hard time laughing. She is always so serious...or crying... or serious...

Which is why i don't dig Angelina Jolie either...

i think she doesn't laugh because she never understands the joke.  She seriously sounds like an idiot every time i hear her speak.  i hope for her sake that is an act because if not OMG.

So I just mentioned this to my cousin (she is also one of my BM's) and she said that maybe Kimye don't know the gf. I said she should still have been invited, you have to invite SO's. And she said " No you don't. Then you'll end up with a bunch of rando's at your wedding." I tried to put her in the other persons shoes and asked what if she were invited to a wedding and not her husband? She replied "So? He wouldn't come. Not a big deal to me. It's their special day for people who love them."

It's amazing how brainwashed some people are...

  • Yup. I didn't bother to continue down the road with her and just changed the subject. I did tell her though, that my coworker (who I am really good friends with) invited FI to his wedding even though at the time he barely knew him. Had he not done that, I would not have gone because the wedding was in Long Island and I hate driving. Plus, I would want to drink. So I hope she at least got the point that your guests do appreciate YOU appreciate THEM.

  • The guy my sister meets at the bar an hour before the wedding and never sees again after that night is random.

Great Aunt Elizabeth's gentleman caller, Harold, who has been courting Elizabeth for six months is not random, even if I don't really know him. I just need to figure out how to properly invite him. I think he gets his own invitation, but it seems a bit gift grabby to me as I'm not sure he knows our last names. Elizabeth is my maternal grandmother's sister, so thus all different names. We're thinking about taking them out for a nice lunch after church and directly hand them invites. I have time.

I think it is a combination of not understanding the joke and the fact that her face is made of plastic and she just physically cannot laugh because her face can't move.

  • Yup- the radio this morning on the way to work was talking about this and asked people to call in with their take. Of course there were 3 callers- all super special snowflakes who said "I'm planning my wedding right now and I'm not wasting money on your date that I know won't be around for long, I don't want them in MY pictures after you break up- no way!" And of course the girl "I told all my coworkers they could bring their SO's but then once I saw how expensive it was I told they couldn't bring them anymore- they all totally understand".

  • I don't get how hard it is to understand. How can you possibly expect someone to come and support your relationship when you're telling them that you don't respect theirs?

So did anyone else think the wall of flowers used as their ceremony backdrop sort of resembled rotten cauliflower?
