Does the wish/advice box replace guest book?

I bought a wish box because it was very nice looking. As I'm looking on the internet, it is suggested that this is an alternative to the guest book. Would it be silly to have both? I thought it was two different things but reading it's basically the same thing. I just think everyone one would actually sign the guest book as they walk in and advice/wishes are optional and just something fun to have on a table. Advice or opinions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Does the wish/advice box replace guest book?

  • I was actually wondering the same thing. We're having a smaller wedding, only 65 guests, and the majority will be family. I don't really see a need for a guest book as we'll know everyone in attendance very well and will remember them being at our wedding. I thought a well-wishes/advice box might be a nice alternative to the guest book since we're inviting everyone very close to us.
  • I don't think it matters. If you want both, have both. Just keep in mind that some will do one or the other, both, or neither.

  • As a guest I would be more apt to sign a guest book then write out well wishes because signing my name with a "Congrats!" is a lot easier and quicker then trying to figure out something to write on a well wishes card.

But if you want both have both.  It won't hurt anything and those that want to participate will.

  • Hey thanks everyone! I really appreciate your answers :) this really helps me!
