Shit just got real, ladies. In exactly one year, I will be married!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yay!!!!! My little knot ticker is finally at the one year mark! So that makes me happy :)
Other things I'm happy about today: 
 - the long weekend ahead. FI and I took Tuesday and Wednesday off, so we are having a nice long extended weekend. 
 - I'm getting my hair done on Sunday, (keratin smoothing), so it will be frizz free and manageable again, woohoo!
 - We have 2 barbecues and a party this weekend, so this weekend will be fun!
 - The unofficial start to summer this weekend! And business casual attire at workie as of next week!

Other than that, it's finally Thirsty Thursday. What is everyone happy about today?

    My FI found out this week that he got a new job. He put in his two weeks today and we are both so excited for this new opportunity!

    I am happy I teach seniors. Most of them have not been here all week because we have a bizarre testing schedule that traps us in the same class for 3 hours, and most of them are saying fuck that noise and just not coming. Additionally, I get to leave here in an hour and go to a picnic with them. Their exams are next week, (and most of mine were able to exempt) and then they are done for the year, which means I am done for the most part as well.
    What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

    YAY! One year from today you will be married-ified!

    My Thursday happy is that my coworker is giving me cells but they won't be ready until Tuesday so I don't have to come in this weekend :D

    Happy 365 day! (anyone remember the 365 days party girl?)

    I'm happy that tomorrow is Friday because I'm going to a concert that I'm SUPER excited about! I bought the tickets in February and it's finally here!

    FI's birthday is on Sunday and I'm hoping that the bakery emails me back and says they don't use anything with corn so I can get him yummy cupcakes. I'm also using this as an excuse so I can eat more cupcakes.

    I took off next Tuesday so I now have a four day weekend and the weather will be lovely.

    I'm happy that the half marathon I'm running is this Sunday and after that I never have to run again (I'm getting super burnt out on it)

    I'm happy because I'm on the verge of a three-day weekend, which will include my BFF's bachelorette party! 

    I'm also excited because I bought new hair accessories & a maxi dress yesterday. LOVE them!

    There was some chick who mentioned on an E thread that she was throwing a 365 days party (I think it was in reference to engagement parties). She was a bit of an AW (to say the least).

    I won a free happy hour that I will be having tonight! Saturday I have a bachlorette party to go to and Sunday is FSIL's wedding then Monday I am going to a baseball game (2 of DF's favorite teams are playing one another in town). Should be a fun and busy weekend!

    I am happy that we have a three day weekend and no plans! We can be lazy and do what we want to do for a change. :) I am also just in love with our new house. It finally feels like ours. I love how it came together. Now we just need to get the yard under control. Lol.

    I am happy that we just booked our anniversary trip! It is a splurge, but what the hell? Laying by the pool for several days sounds amazing!

    I am also happy that DH and I seem to be on the same page about taking another trip to Europe before I turn 30. :) Challenge accepted!

    Awesome! I am so excited. I am jealous of that cousin! :) By the way I loooove your GIF. It brings me such joy when I see it. I love Charlotte and I think that moment/episode is particularly powerful for her story line.

    Okay now I am happy (and proud) for another reason. Part of my job is to oversee a group of seven student peer mentors. These seven mentors serve 255 students in several STEM courses. Over the last week we asked the mentors to have their students fill out a feedback survey on the program. I tabulated the results and they blew me away:

    71% of students responded with a 3 or high on a 1-5 scale when asked if they were more encouraged to speak with faculty as a result of the peer mentor program.

    85% of students responded with a 3 or higher on a 1-5 scale when asked if they felt they were more aware of resources on campus as a result of the program.

    85% of students responded with a 3 or higher on a 1-5 scale when asked if they felt that they were more likely to utilize tutoring services as a result of the program.

    71% of students responded with a 3 or higher on a 1-5 scale when asked if they had changed the way they studied or prepared for tests as a result of the program.

    Sorry if this is too much but I am just over the moon that this program is proving effective. It took us so long t design and implement. I am so freaking happy (and relieved) about this. And I just got a glowing email of praise from the Dean. I am loving today.

    I'm happy because a lot of my family is showing up today and the rest are flying in tomorrow!! :D  My dad, step-mom, brother, and his gf are already at the airport and will be here in about 2 hours!! FI and I are BBQ-ing for them.  My dad has never been in IL and none of them have been to FI and my house! :D 
    Also, I'm getting married on Sunday!! :D  However, because of that, I'm only going to limit myself to one glass of wine tonight.  I don't want to overdo it so close to the wedding! :D

    Exciting moment pt 2: I'm excited because I just checked the reading of a little boy I've been keeping after school to read with (he was a full grade level below in his reading) and it turns out he is now performing above grade expectations.... massive improvement in one month! Hells to the yeah!!! lol

    I am just happy because we get to leave work on time tonight and that we have a 3 day weekend so that makes extra happy.  So far no big plans which is awesome in my book.
