CT scans shows a lot of adhesions around my small intestine. The nurse took my current symptoms for the doc to review and see what if anything can be done. Treatment is usually surgery, but that causes scars so it's a catch 22.

Yes, my internet dx skillz are strong! Adhesions are essentially scar tissue that forms between structures/organs where it technically shouldn't be. C sections especially can be prone to pretty gnarly ones because we go into the same area multiple times. On top of 6's other surgeries, her poor body just scarred everywhere that can hurt.

I hope you can get a decent answer for solutions. Maybe a lap procedure? But still, more scarring.

I have a feeling the doctor is still wanting a colonoscopy to check that out too. I don't want surgery or pain pills or a colonoscopy but I also don't want to live in fear of pain from my kids touching me or sneezing too hard.

glad you have a diagnosis. adding increased potential for adhesions to my "reasons not to have any more kids" list.

hopefully if you have to have surgery, it's minimally invasive. if you've never had laparoscopic surgery, prepare to have gas pain in your shoulders.

I had laproscopic gallbladder. Nobody told me about the shoulder. I honest to goodness thought I was dying. DH was frantically trying to call my brother and I was minutes from having him call the squad. I think that episode is what made the recovery so hard.

colonoscopies suck--but they don't suck as much as you THINK they're gong to suck, if that makes sense.
(Except the prep. The prep sucks exactly as much and then some as you expect.)

The gas pains were pretty impressive for lap, but the morphine button is a nice thing. (although, do you always get those after laps? I'm not sure they're standard, because I had the "lets do this laproscopically....huh, it's been 3 hours, lets just chop her stomach open and deal w/ this" inpatient stuff)--once you know they're not going to kill you and you learn how to position yourself, they improve.
