Hi All-  thanks for all the awesome reviews lately.  I've learned so much!  I know that some of you have given welcome bags to your guests with Vegas info and other goodies but I haven't seen these mentioned in any of the reviews.

If you did welcome gift bags, what worked?  What did you guests love?  What would you not do next time?   I want to do something really cool for our guests but I also really want to avoid wasting money on stuff no one will use or care about.

Thanks!

  • We did welcome bags. I used Stella Rosa and put on personalized wine labels. We also attached the free key chains we got from the Las Vegas convention center. We also threw in the Las Vegas travel guides too in case our guests wanted to see some shows or get ideas on some good restaurants. I personally delivered all the bags before our guests checked in. We went to 3 different hotels. It was a little time consuming but I think it was worth it! All of our guests loved their welcome bags.

  • I love your welcome bags @valeriecruz82! I'm considering delivering welcome bags to the hotels my guests will be staying in as well. Were the hotels easy to work with? Did they require a charge for this service?
  • @bdoughty324‌ thank you! The hotels were all easy to work with. One of our guests stayed at LVH and I initially went to the check in to leav the bag but they had me go get a ticket from the baggage check then I had to leave the bag with them so my guest had to pick it up there instead of picking up at check in. But the other hotels were easy.

But the other hotels were easy. There was no charge to leave the welcome bags, they mentioned to me if I had wanted then to deliver the bags up to the rooms there would of been a charge of I think 4$ per bag. But I just left them to give the guests the bags at check in.

  • What did you include in your welcome bags?

I know some of you included Vegas info from the convention and visitors bureau (I'm waiting until closer to get those)  but what else?  Vegas souvenirs? Info about the weekends activities?  Hangover kits(what was in them?)

Just looking for suggestions. Thanks in advance everyone!

What do you need to do to get the bags from the convention center?
  • Hi @KrisLSmiley‌ the Scheme events girls also have a Welcome Bag Shoppe on their website where you can buy them premade. They look a little pricey but just in case you are looking for convenience. I obviously havent used them so cant offer a review. :-)

I used nice canvas bags and included: water, koozie, playing cards, door hangers, Bloody Mary kit, Tylenol, pepto tablets, alka seltzer tabs, tide stain pens, wet ones, hand sanitizer, mints, a map of the strip, pins, Starbucks via latte mix, toblerone bars and chex mix. I think that's it. They were big hits, especially the Bloody Mary kits and snacks the day after the wedding.

  • @shoebunnie‌ - where'd you find the Bloody Mary kits?
  • how do you organise stuff from the convention centre? most of our guests are coming from AUstralia, so I really wanted to include a visitors guide in our bags.

  • @jjandmr we purchased tiny Tabasco bottles at World Market at home and small vodkas and Bloody Mary mix in Vegas. @AustralianSam‌ we just put the postcards, mints, pins, and maps in the bags along with everything else. They sent visitors guides but they were too heavy to ship to back Vegas so we omitted them from the welcome bags.

  • So far, this is my plan for my welcome bags:
I got the Vegas casino played cards from the dollar tree...
I'm also creating the stickers we'll put on the bags to personalize them... they'll match the invitations (not that anyone will remember when they see these bags!) :)
    Red or White gift bags
    playing cards
    lip balm
    water
    snacks
    sunscreen
    to do list
    Red and silver hershey kisses

    Personalized Cookies

  • For those of you who did gift/welcome bags, did you give one per PERSON or one per COUPLE?
