What is everyone thankful for this weekend?


I'm thankful that we got some much needed rain last night, for the delicious mango I had for breakfast, and for lunch next Thurs with some wonderful ladies from my parish that are helping with our reception.

    I'm thankful for the foot rub FI gave me last night, which helped lead to the 11 hours of blissful sleep I got. 

    I'm thankful for the 3-day weekend, but more importantly, for the men & women whose sacrifice we remember.

    I'm thankful that FI is doing something about his high BP, because I'd be hella pissed if his ticker gives out and robs me of any of the years & years & years I want to spend with him.

    I'm thankful that our herb garden has finally sprouted as I was thiiiiiiissss close to writing them off as duds.

    I'm thankful for the TK ladies and gents for the advice, entertainment, and inspiration.

    I am thankful for the men and women who have laid down their lives for our freedom, whom we honour this weekend.

    I am thankful for my husband, who loves me even when I'm cranky.

    I'm thankful for my wonderful family.

    I'm thankful for the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for us. But I am also thankful for my health- I just found out my best friend and bridesmaid has cancer. It's crazy the little things we worry about in life and this has helped put everything in perspective. And thankful for my amazingly supportive FI and family.

    So thankful for every ordinary happy moment. These are the times we forget to be appreciative of.

    Most happy about- my daughter's fiancé has a ten year old girl, and I love her. I have been working on her bridesmaid's dress this week, and every moment all I could think of was what a great, lovely, bright little girl she is, and how lucky I am to be an instant grandmama. She's my new BFF. 
    (All my friends have grandchildren, and I always felt like I'd been robbed of the experience.)

    I am going to be the best grandma ever. So thankful to have this little girl in my life.

    Also, so thankful her frikking dress is done.

    I'm thankful that I get to travel home next weekend and see all my family and friends! Last time I saw them was when my grandpa past away last month so I'm glad this visit is for happy circumstances. I am also thankful that I was able this whole weekend with FI! I work full time and go to school full time so that doesn't happen very often.

    I'm thankful for the awesome breakfast I had this morning that soaked up the massive amount of alcohol I drank last night.

    I'm thankful for FI, who loves me even when I'm hungover and sure that I'm going to die. I've been a grumpy Gus all morning.

    I'm also thankful for a four day weekend and the beautiful weather I'll have for the whole thing.

    Being that it is Memorial Day weekend I am grateful for so much, to include everyone of my buddies returning home safely.

    While I have always been keenly aware of what this weekend really means, it took on a whole new meaning when I had to be the one to knock on the door and tell a mom and dad that their 20 year old son died that morning in Afghanistan because his vehicle hit an IED.  That was 3 1/2 years ago and they are keenly on my mind this weekend.

    I am so grateful for my family, my husband, my new job, my wonderful friends, and that every true need I have is more than sufficiently met.  My kids are all healthy, gainfully employed and their needs are met also.  I am a really grateful woman.

    I am grateful for my FI, who goes to the Flea Market with me even when he wakes up at 4 am with an upset stomach. I am grateful for my dad, who is taking me out to an adoption celebration dinner tonight.

    Also immensely grateful for pancakes. Because pancakes.
