Stripburger/ El Segundo Sol

I have a couple of questions about Stripburger and was wondering if anybody else had booked to have their reception there?

I was originally dealing with Dusty but it looks like a lady called Natalie has taken over. She seems great but not as laid back as Dusty was. She originally said we would only be able to order the build a burger party and not select our own menu as discussed with Dusty. We have now managed to be able to create our own menu using the main menu. We have also been asked for a deposit which wasn't mentioned by Dusty and the contract seems pretty strict.

Our wedding isn't until October 2015. Are we being to eager to get things booked?
I know Vegas can change so quickly and would hate to pay a deposit then Stripburger close!

Has anybody else booked Stripburger? Did you require a $200 deposit??

Re: Stripburger/ El Segundo Sol

  • I was thinking of using them awhile ago because I like their private space and menu. It was also Natalie. They definently required a deposit and an F&B minimum. You are so far out in time, but isn't October prime wedding season in Vegas. Not sure if I'd risk your first choice not being available. But you also might change your mind yourself between now and then.

  • We just had our reception there and had a deposit of a percentage of the whole meal. The service was excellent! I will post reviews very soon as we just got back home on Tuesday and have been at work everyday since. If you are thinking about booking, do it.

  • Thanks for your help. I have emailed a few questions but Natalie seems great.

Which menu option did you go for @laurengarciakrueger ?? Which room were you in? Can't wait to see your reviews!!
  • I'll be following this thread closely as we are thinking of Strip Burger for our Meet & Greet before the wedding.  We're getting married in October of THIS year so I'm trying to plan but it is so hard when we have no idea yet how many people will actually be coming.  I LOVE the patio space at the Hard Rock but I saw one of MissMo's posts where she said the minimum during the evening is $4000 and I can't do that much with a big reception planned the next night.  Not sure we could do the earlier option either because most people will be flying in that day and not until later in the afternoon.

Congratulations Lauren!!!  I will be excited to read all about the details of your big day!

  • We did the build a burger meal and added the sweet potato fries. it already comes with so much. And it was less than $25pp. Also the kids cost even less than that. We were in the dining room with 3 12-top tables set up. i dont remember seeing anyone around us, but there may have been some tables nearby. We were close to the bar. The drink tab was seperate and wasnt bad either. Service was EXCELLENT!!! And I work in a restaurant, so I really mean it. More about the reviews coming soon....
  • Sounds great, can't wait to read your review. We are currently going through the Stripburger contract. Hoping to have it signed and back to them by the end of the week!! Eeek! Thanks for your help. I think we were pretty set on it but you have definitely confirmed it! :)
  • @MishMashPotato, do you know already this far out how many people you'll have for the reception?  And if you don't have an exact count, how are you working the contract?  Is it just a minimum spend or what?  Just wondering about reserving a space.  We could have anywhere from 30-65 people at our Meet & Greet and I'm not sure how to do that if it's a per person but still be able to reserve a semi-private or private space.

  • @dbacksgirl we don't know exact numbers but they have been pretty flexible, no minimums but it will be a Thursday so I'm not sure if that make a difference. They have asked for a deposit but have said they need a final headcount 3 days before and our menu choices then too! We have provisionally booked the Tequila room as we are only expecting around 15 of us in total. If you go on the website, they have the email address on there. I've been speaking to a lady called Natalie who has been very helpful so far!
  • Thank you!!!  Ours will be on a Thursday, too.  Natalie actually emailed me last week but all she sent was the menus and I had that information already since I downloaded them from the website.  I messaged her back to ask for more details on menus and seating but with the holiday weekend, she may have just been busy and/or had some time off.  I hope to hear back from her sometime this week.  In the meantime, thank you for sharing your info!

  • I saw the tequila room. It is pretty private. We signed the contract for 53 people, but 3 days before the wedding, we finalized the headcount for 37 people. The bill reflected the 37. The dining room wasn't private, but I don't remember seeing many people around us, if that helps.
  • Natalie got back to me today.  On our date (a Thursday) there is a $1500 minimum before tax and tip.  Ugh.  I was hoping it would just be a per person charge since I have a feeling no matter how many say they're coming, it will change due to flights, traffic, etc.  After all, this will be an informal get together for us before the actual wedding.  I'm thinking more and more about just getting catering in a suite but I REALLY do not want to worry about cleanup and logistics of all that crap the night before the wedding.

  • @dbacksgirl how many people is that minimum for? To be honest Natalie did mention a minimum but Dusty said it wouldn't be required when I originally spoke to Stripburger so I mentioned this and she wavered it. The minimum was only $500 for 15 of us anyway which I'm sure we will go over anyway so we weren't too bothered. We have gone ahead and booked Stripburger now and paid a deposit!! Jiimanie had a great suite in the Mirage!! Looked perfect!
  • @MishMashPotato, it's not for a certain number of people; it's just a minimum spend they require for the room.  Natalie told me it was based on sales for that date the previous year.  As everyone keeps telling me, October is a popular month in Vegas for weddings.  "Popular" = EXPENSIVE.  We have a pretty big group so by the time we met the minimum, paid the 20% service charge and 8.1% tax, I'd be up at as much as it would be to get a suite and have things catered.  Besides, our reception will be at Maggiano's the next night, which is literally directly above StripBurger.  I kind of want to spread things out a bit for the guests.  Just not sure it's going to be the best choice for us.  That said, it looks like a GREAT way to go and I'm so happy you have it booked.  I don't think you're going to go wrong with it.  Congraulations!  One more thing to check off your list! :)

  • @dbacksgirl Thank you! Naively I really didn't think October would be that popular for weddings but sounds like I did the right thing getting things booked ASAP. Maggianos looks incredible!! I think your maybe right about spreading things out a little. Did you ever contact Hard Rock? It sounds like restaurant minimums and policies vary quite a bit... It may be worth just asking? I've heard good things about private rooms at a few buffets too which may be a great option!
  • I did contact Hard Rock.  That is my first choice at the moment.  They won't rent out the patio during evenings without an INSANE minimum spend.  Seriously, it's like 10k!!!  BUT, we can have a dedicated space in the dining room and it's between $25-$40 per person, depending on the menu we pick.  We'd be eating with other diners since it's not a private area but that's really not that big of a deal to me for the Meet & Greet.  They have some awesome choices for food though and the price already includes gratuity and tax which is awesome!  Funny you mention the buffet option.  I just got some information from Rose at Cosmo today about Wicked Spoon.  For our date, the private room has a minimum of $1500 + tax and tip.  I love that the area is private and I've heard good things about WS but I've also seen some not so great comments about slow service, etc.  Not sure yet what I'm going to do but I'm finally happy to have some choices that aren't in the $3500-5k or higher range!
