Outdoor Ceremony/Reception

I just got engaged.  My fiance and I don't think we should wait until next year to get married and want to have the wedding in September.  We'd really like to have an outdoor ceremony/reception.  The only thing is that most venues have a minimum of 100 guests. We rather keep it small and have around 75 guests.  Anywhere we can have the ceremony and reception in the same place without having to look for outside vendors for catering our event and renting tent/chairs/tables etc.  If anyone knows of a nice place in northern/central NJ then please share.

Thank you. :)

  • The Views at Mt. Fuji - it is technically in NY but just over the border from Mahwah. My sister got married there last September with about 80 guests and they also booked with short notice. The food was great and the room was very pretty.

Thank you! Will definitely check it out.
  • I'm not 100 percent certain since I booked off season in March, but I only had to guarantee 75 guest for a Friday night at the Highlawn Pavilion in West Orange. The have space outside for an outdoor ceremony and hold one wedding at a time.
  • Check out Ravello's in East Hanover. 75 guest minimum and beautiful outdoor garden for the ceremony. My friend got married there and it was absolutely lovely!!!

Awesome options.  Thanks fellow knotties :D Love it!  I still don't have a venue, but I'm sure I will soon! :)

What day/time of the week?  When I called them (2 years ago), it was 150 minimum for a Saturday evening and 100 for a Saturday afternoon.

Her wedding was on a Saturday evening at Ravello's. Someone else started running the place she said so I guess things are different now.
  • We had looked at Ravello's last fall for a Saturday evening and were told 100 minimum, I think. It may even have been less. They were going to give us one price per head for the first 100 people and then an even cheaper price for above 100 guests. They told us they had stopped advertising for weddings due to a change in management so they were trying to build it back up. We didn't end up booking there but that was the info we received.
