Flower petals without a flower girl?

I have two or three nieces who are the right age to be flower girls (depending on what "the right age" is). The thing is, though, I don't particularly want flower girls. Both because even one seems like too much extra hassle in general and because I feel like I'd have to ask all three of them so as not to hurt anyone's feelings.

I was totally fine with that decision until I woke up one day and said -- wait ... how do I get flower petals on the aisle without flower girls? (Because I do really like the idea of walking down on flower petals.)

Any ideas on how to have flower petals without having the girls? :\

  • At my first wedding, we had a runner that had flower petals already in it.  My brother unrolled the runner and the petals were already in place!

Does your ceremony venue allow flower petals on the floor? I only ask because my church was very strict with decorations.

I would have them laid out before the ceremony starts, that would be the easiest way in my opinion.

  • When my planer set up the venue, she added flower petals to the runner. :)

  • Have them sprinkled on before the ceremony.
