Snarky Brides

Listing parents on programs.....

Going to try and make this simple.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

I was adopted as an infant and raised by my great parents.

5 years ago I met my biological mother and her family. Now have a great relationship with her and her family

(Haven’t met biological father)

How do I list it..

Parents of the Bride:

Jane and John Doe

And

Betty Boop (She isn't married)

Most of the extended family do not know I have met her.. they all know I was adopted just aren’t aware she is actively in my life. Wasn’t something you just call up and tell randomly.

Thoughts? I can’t find anything online as far as how to list this…. I keep getting foster parent ideas… not the same.

Re: Listing parents on programs.....

  • What's wrong with what you have?

    Parents of the bride:
    Thomas and Martha Jefferson
    Sally Hemings

The programmes only need to list who's who, not explain who begat whom.

  • I was in the same situation (although I had met my bio dad as well).  the invites had my (adopted) parents names as they were the main ones hosting, but in the program I did pretty much what you did

    Parents of the Bride:
    Mommy and Daddy Bride
    Mother Biological
    Father and Wifey Bio

If you want to list her, I don't see anything wrong with wording it the way you and PPs listed, same as if you had step-parents. My programs will list my mom, SD, dad, SM, and FI's mom and SD (dad is deceased) plus his grandparents (mine are deceased).

You didn't really say that you WANTED to list her, or if you felt obligated to...
