cupcakes

Does anyone have any recommendations for bakeries that are a reasonable price. I am looking for about $18 per dozen or less. Any recommendations on who to stay away from? Thanks!

We didn't do cupcakes but I got our cake from Tapp's in Parma and they were very reasonable! (200 people, $400 cake)
  • There's a place in Tower City that make cupcakes and they are FANTASTIC!! I believe the name of the company is The Red Velvet Cake. Here is the number 216-406-6486
  • There price for a dozen is more then the price you are looking for but confectionary cupboard is delicious. If you need more then just 1 dozen ask them if they would give you a discount. Can't hurt & they are worth it. http://www.confectionarycupboard.com/index.htm
  • iI just want to say that iI make cupcakes and cakes kn the side (for friends and family) iI took cake decorating ckasses and iI have done a few things for people iI didbt know that were like friends of friends but anyways even iI would charge about $15 (for about 20 since thats how much batter there is, lol) but that would just be for regular cupcakes with icing and maybe sprinkles or a crumble. it actually doesnt cost a lot to make them which is why iI am making my own. if you just want regular cupcakes you could always make your own. just a thought, its really not hard. theres tons of recipes for crazy outrageous cupcakes (smores, strawberry cream cheese, maple bacon, all kinds!!!)
  • I'm forgetting our exact prices right now but we paid about $1.25 (maybe a bit less?) per cupcake at Fragapane Bakery in North Olmsted. We did a cupcake bar (they had a nice selection). 8 inch Italian wedding cake to cut was $20. Cupcakes were the biggest hit of the night.

  • We are looking at Great Scott's Bakery in Rocky River, Blackbird Bakery in Lakewood, and Cookie & Cupcake in Tremont. All three places make different size cupcakes so you don't have to get those huge $4 cupcakes but a reasonably sized one for $1.50. Some of the places include a small cake topper to cut and will also include a cake stand. A friend had Great Scott at her wedding and they were so good! I think we are leaning towards them but we're not getting married until September 2015 so there is a lot of cake tasting in our future.
  • Sweets by Maggie.  Best cupcakes in northeast ohio (according to myself - i really have tried almost all of them!)  She doesn't have a big name, which sort of works to the customers advantage because she keeps her prices competitive!!  http://www.sweetsbymaggie.com/prices.php

I personally recommend her salted caramel, buckeye, and cookie dough... those are some of my top favorites!  Her plain flavors (which are less expensive per dozen) are also excellent.

  • @Ashcolyer Do they offer cupcakes available daily? If I called in could I place in order for a mix of cupcakes to sample?

@rbanfie2‌ yes they do! Just call in and ask for the list of flavors and they can pull them for you to try. Our samples were free.

  • Has anyone stumbled upon cassata cupcakes while cupcake testing?

  • cassatta cupcakes are super easy to make!! iI made them and my friends beg me all the time to make them again. you guys should try your own. really decorating them takes like 15 min. if not try to find a small person instead of a big bakery.
