Experiences with Wicked Spoon, Sugar Factory, Social House, Deuce Lounge

So I am trying to narrow down (and CHOOSE) a place to have a 2 hour reception. I was initially leaning towards Sugar Factory in their Chocolate Lounge. I have always loved their food.

Since we are getting married at Aria, I also saw some reviews on here about Wicked Spoon in the Cosmo. How does the buffet work? Is it a private room then everyone just goes to the buffet and comes back? Is there an option to play music? How do the drinks work?

I also saw that Aria has two packages that include receptions at Social House and Deuce Lounge. I have not tried or seen any of these places.

We are looking at 50-60 people and I would like to come in around $4-5k.

We are having our reception at wicked spoon, and wedding at aria. With wicked spoon there is an optio to have a private room and you can play music, by in. It sure on the detail about that part. There is now cost to the private room, you just need to teach a food and beverage min which is dependent on the date you choose ( more for higher traffic weekends of course). If you have the private room, your guests go visit the bar and the. Come back. They also have a variety of drink options, we choose the unlimited house wine option which include one red and one white for $10 per person. They have one the includes ever and wine, they have an option for all drinks and then I think they have an option to have a bar tender in your private room if you choose. $4-5k would be very doable of that is the route you choose. I could t tell you about the other options you are looking at because we knew we needed a buffet with the huge variety of allergies and other dietary needs our guests have
  • Im using the Wicked Spoon and I reserved the private room, we have 55-ish guests. Our food and bev min for our date (Saturday in Oct) is $3,000. So after tax and tip it will probably be around $4100. I havent added a beverage package yet until I have a better idea of our final number. They told me I could add that at any time. I havent looked into playing music or anything like that yet. I thought the private bar option was nice but $40-50 additional per person is just too much for us, we have a lot of non-drinkers too.

When we first scouted Aria, we looked into Deuce lounge and Social house. Deuces lounge is on the casino floor- very open on all fronts to the casino noise and people. There are a lot of poker/ blackjack tables. I personally did not care for the layout and fact that my reception would be visible to all of Vegas. The wedding coordinator said we could sub Gold Lounge for Deuces for a small fee as long as Gold was available. Keep in mind Gold opens at 5pm so receptions would have to start later than that. It is also exclusively for adults- no kids allowed. Gold would reserve the left side of the lounge for the reception so it would be semi private. In my opinion, it is gorgeous. The bartender said they typically place all appetizers and plates on the bar. Apps are very casual- think pigs in a blanket, etc. My FI and I met with the manager at Social House and ate there. Wedding receptions are held on the back patio which has its own bar and cocktail tables. It was a great space but keep in mind, it also overlooks the rest of the mall. The manager had said that previous receptions had rented trees or decorations to block the view from patrons walking on the other side of the mall to the reception going on. You may also have that 'mall glow' from the lighting. The food was fabulous in my opinion but the patio worried me. For the price, I didn't want it to look like I was getting married in the mall. Hope this helps!
  • I just emailed gold today! I already booked my dinner but I could still cancel it if I needed too. But, we have one 15 year old in attendance so maybe well just see about using gold for the after party where he won't be.
We are having cake and champagne in a suite after dinner but after attending a bachelorette party this weekend....I am super duper concerned that my group won't be able to keep the noise level down enough for us to pull that off.

@Rosebubbly‌ are you using a suite at aria for the cake and champagne? I was thinking of going that route as well but I'm unsure of which suite to book.
  • This is really helpful! I think I will stick with Wicked Spoon or Sugar Factory. @Rosebubbly...I am very curious about which suite you booked as well.

  • @trm358‌ and @hmgiffor‌ I have vista, apex and an aria suite booked. Haven't made final decision. I emailed the gold/deuce team about doing an after party there. I don't want to get thrown out of my suite with our rowdy bunch!

  • I will look into those. I actually got some info today on Gold/Deuce for the meet and greet. Looks VERY expensive!

  • @hmgiffor‌ we are on the exact same page! I have been emailing them today too! We cant do a reception or meet n greet there because we have one 15 year old and he cant get in. We might do an afterparty.

  • Hello fellow Aria brides to be :)
We are getting married at the Aria on July 12th.
We opted for the insuite reception for about 30 to 40 people. We have a couple of kids coming, so we cant have the reception at Gold.. which is a bummer...

With the after party at Gold, hopefully.  We are trying to figure out how to pay for wedding and reception and the after party is if you want to go ....

Thank you for your info for the wicked spoon -- that sounds amazing and might actually change it depending on how it will all work out.

Good luck to you all :)

  • Hey @karimck3‌ which suite do you have? Your wedding is coming up soon!

  • I'm visiting Wicked Spoon and Sugar Factory June 18th so I will let you know what I find. So far the info that I have is that it's normally reserved for 2-2.5 hours, $3,000 minimum (buffet is $41 pp), drink packages are anywhere from $12 to $77 pp.

  • We are having our dinner at the Wicked Spoon in a private dining room on a Wednesday night... and we have a minimum spend of $2000 for 2 hours. We only have 30 people, so after the price of dinner, we will just let people drink whatever they want to spend the rest!

My mum was in Vegas last year and ate there (on my request) and they raved about how fantastic it was... so Im happy with the decision.

  • How far in advance do you think I need to find a reception space? I feel so anxious to book it early in case the RSVPs are different than what I am guessing and I could go to a smaller or nicer place.
