Meet and Greet - Happy Hour

I noticed many places have great happy hours from 3-6pm. Our group may be rather large (40ish) but these deals seem so much better than group specials (especially El Segundo!) Does anyone have experience just showing up during happy hour with a group this size and just enjoying happy hour? 

I am looking at El Segundo, Carlos and Charlies, Diablo Cantina, and Tequila Bar (can you tell we want Mexican!).

    Yes! We did this with hard rock cafe. I called them about it about 3 weeks prior and told me we could call them an hour before to be put on a list so when we got there we wouldn't need to wait.

    @valeriecruz82 That's a great idea!   I was thinking the same thing, we can reserve an area at a bar and pay their minimums plus 20% and or we could go to a happy hour.  I don't think all 30 of my guests will go anyway so that a happy hour might work for us too!

    that's a great idea!! We are doing ours at Margarittaville, but I didn't even think of the Happy Hour, we won't have a large party maybe 10 people

    Has anyone tried it? It sounds good in theory haha. I just don't want to pay all the minimums. I am sure either way we will have the 20% but then I have some control over the overall cost. I was thinking about giving out 2 chips to everyone when they arrive for drinks.

    Yes it worked out perfect for us! There were about 20 of us and we had a bunch of tables put together for us!

    We are doing this in a couple of weeks at El segundo, we haven't pre warned them as we didn't want to pay the minimums etc, but im planing on going in a couple of days before and giving them a heads up. I'll let you know how it goes!
