Married at Excalibur??

We booked everything here in Illinois and then went.. nope this is way too expensive and not what we want. So we canceled everything and on May 30th 2015 Vegas Here We Come!

I have been looking at chapels and options online for 2 weeks now and can't seem to make a decision on anything -within the prices we want. Today I looked up Excalibur and their pricing is very straight forward, too the point, and the chapel they have is beautiful... I'm just not finding anything online Vegasgroom.com has one picture but no threads posted. Did anyone get married here and how was it? and if so what did you do for reception options after? -thinking cocktail and cake only before dinner reception.. thoughts?

Thanks!! <3

  • I haven't seen many pics of the Excalibur, we are at the Flamingo and they were straightforward with their prices, good luck!

I really like the flamingo but they do have the surcharges...
An additional surcharge of $150 applies to Gazebo and West Lawn weddings.
The Crescendo surcharge is $900 October – March and $1400 April – September*
*Excludes Everlasting or Fabulous October – March and $500 April – September on Everlasting or Fabulous.
So we add that price to the wedding package we want -assuming we want crescendo Add $1400 to the package price for a may wedding? yikes!
  • Have you been to Excalibur before?

They have Buca di Beppo, we looked at them for our meet and greet, pricing was reasonable for that.  We decided against it because it was so far from the Mirage.

If you have it in your budget for a scouting trip I would totally do that.  We were deciding between Flamingo, Mirage and Emerald at Queensridge and after our scouting trip we picked Mirage.  It helps seeing thins in person sometimes.
We had our dream wedding at Mirage on May 3, 2014!

  • we have no surcharges for the indoor chapel which is beautiful. Are you looking for outdoor locations?

  • @ktbabe530 like the double decker bus rentals? I think that would be a ton of fun. -Would probably fill my budget though. Is it miserably hot during the day or just as fun as if at night?

@ssteele04 I did like the outide locations a bit better because the chapel looked very pink? and im just not a pink girl (annoying i know) :) But i do love the flamingo hotel and the location is great. I havn't ruled it out.
  • no worries:) do what makes you happy!

  • Check out the Silver Sky Chapel @ Quad. Prices are straightforward. This was our 2nd choice...we just choose Aria because it fit our style better.

  • End of May will be hot, I can't speak for Vegas, but in Phoenix we are well into the 100s by now.  I haven't done the bus, but lots of people on here have.  I would think the breeze would keep you cool enough esp if you did it at night.

  • Well my older sister originally got married at Excalibur, but it was a pretty long time ago and cheesy lol but I would've hoped they changed it up since then. It was about 10 years ago lol

  • If you go to Excalibur's wedding site, you can watch wedding videos if the B&G have made them freely available instead of pay-per-view.

Thanks ladies! I think we decided today we are going with chapel of the flowers (glass garden) you just get more bang for your buck and it has great reviews!

Changed our minds yet again! Now i think we are going to do an in-suite wedding and reception in the Wrap around terrace room in the cosmopolitan. Talked to Masterpiece to cater it and he said he just had a party for 50-60 in there with plenty of room, he's not concerned about the hotel and the issues i have heard about at all.
  • I got married at the Excalibur this weekend!! We had a great wedding! Their chapel is very lovely. We were very happy there!

We had a ceremony mishap. I forgot the rings... which were in my purse.... at the back of the chapel.. LOL So in one pic, while my BM is getting the rings, he's just chillin' on the floor of the chapel.. It was a good time! Everyone laughed..

  • I wanted to say that Excalibur's photo session is so awesome. Along with a family chapel photo, you also get bride/groom studio photo session. We LOVED the studio photo session. They even included our 3 yr old in the pics as well.  Their photographers are awesome!

They also took a couple of photos of the entire audience while in the chapel. I don't think any other chapel offers a family photo session much less a studio bride/groom session. These pics are a couple of the professional studio pics they took..

  • Congrats!

  • People should really look into the Tropicana too! These ladies have been so fabulous to work with and actually follow up to see how you're doing. Even though I didn't book there, their price is great!

  • @rosebuddy is there an easy way to get prices? Or do you have to fill everything out and wait for someone to contact you?

  • Oh dear. Frazzled brain. I see it on their site

  • i sent over 5 emails to Tropicana with no response so we looked elsewhere

Yay Vegas! I have a bunch of photos from a visit to Excalibur. I'm overhauling my venue directory, so they used to be on my site but here they are instead, just for you :)  (I think they are on my Pinterest profile though...too many venues to remember!)

I was actually pleasantly surprised by how it looked in there. It is kind of cathedral-style with nice detailing and stained glass, at least in the larger chapel. They offer cheesy add ons if you are into it like medieval/renaissance era costumes, but I heard that they are pretty ragged and don't fit so well. You can find your own costume rental companies to go that route if you want to. Floral is done by Foxtail Floral, not in-house like other MGM properties.

    Anyhow, pics:
