We went to a 50th birthday party for FI's co-worker's wife (FI owns his own business, but sometimes works with the husband on some jobs).
FI and I were talking to another couple. The husband was super drunk. He was hanging all over FI, telling him what a cool guy he was and that if I left FI, I'd be the one losing out. I jokingly agreed with him and told him that FI was really the catch, not me. This dude then says, "Yeah, man. You're really cool. I don't know about her (meaning me) though. *looks at me* You're dead on the inside."
I was like WTF? It was such a weird thing to say. And I think started taking his comment to heart. Sometimes I can be weird socially and it can take me a while to warm up to people. So I started stressing that people think I'm cold.
A little while after that, a man found out we were getting married. He said right to us, "Don't have kids." which was actually a nice refreshing change of pace from the usual, "OMG YOU'RE NOT HAVING KIDS?!!?" comments we usually get. But still, a comment on our reproductive plans, which is never cool.
And then the guest of honor. I've hung out with her maybe 3 times. They know they're coming to our wedding because they received a STD. At the end of the party (we hung around since we know the owner of the restaurant), guest of honor comes up to me and says, "R, I hope I'm still invited to the wedding." Uhh. Yes. Why would you be disinvited? So weird.
Now please share yours if you had any weird comments this weekend.
