US Open and busy week

So for those of you who follow golf, the Men's US Open practice rounds start today in Pinehurst, NC. I work in a sister Town right beside Pinehurst. Well, this lucky girl gets to volunteer tomorrow in the morning serving beer (hello tips) and then watch all afternoon! Then FI and I are volunteering on Saturday afternoon on hole #7! Needless to say, we are very excited.

This week is a busy one though thanks to the Open. I have extra events for work to keep the tourists busy. Friday night specifically, we have a free outdoor concert at our park by the US Army Ground Forces Band followed by "Frozen" being shown on a big screen. Leading up to that, I have radio interviews, TV interviews and presentations to the community to advertise this event. Plus with the extra traffic, my commute goes from one hour to almost two. 

As excited as I am about the festivites we have going one, I am also ready for the week to be over.

    I don't have a lot going on this week, other than support for FI who started his new job today! We joined a gym over the weekend so I'm pretty sure this week will be me psyching myself up to go everyday after work.

    Im so jealous that you get to volunteer at the Open!  I follow the PGA and we try to make it to the Bridgestone in Akron every summer.  Since Tiger is not playing ill be rooting for Zach Johnson, Ian Poulter and many others!  Gosh have fun!

    @ktjanesmom Turns out I'll be volunteering Thursday instead of today, which means it will be first rounds! I'm a Bubba Watson fan. He's a great golfer but he has an amazing image which makes him even more appealing.

    Oooh! So jealous of the open volunteering. I'm a huge Phil fan. I like bubba too :) most of the time I like rory too. :)

    My daughter is a huge Bubba fan too because he is a christian.  :)   And I root for anyone playing against Rory.  :)

    We are ABT (anybody but Tiger) when our guys don't make the finals. Phil makes me cry way too much. He is so sweet with his wife/mother/children, and I want him to do so well, but he always falls apart.

    @hikebikebemerry I know! I work in Southern Pines and Pinehurst is literally a couple of miles away. This is a huge golf community and they have been preparing for the Open forever! Everyone is so excited about the amount of tourists.
