Dominican Republic?

Is anyone considering P*nta Cana for their honeymoon??
 I have been reading countless TripAdvisor reviews on the Majestic Elegance resort and so far love everything about it. They say May is the rainiest month in the Dominican but many reviews from mid July (which is when we'd be going) said it rained every single day. We are going for 11 days and both love being in the sun so this is kinda making me nervous now. The only place in the Caribbean that is almost guaranteed to be rain-free is Aruba but we were really set on going somewhere we haven't been before : /

    We are going to Cap Cana in the beginning of July. I think if anything, it will rain only a bit each afternoon. I would talk to a travel agent if you are concerned as they would probably know best!

    We went in August, and there was a little rain in the afternoon on a bunch of days, but really a passing shower, nothing that lasted all day.

    We went to Cap Cana for our HM in October, and the weather was great.  We did have the passing showers almost daily but they really didn't last very long.  I would do as the pp said and check with the TA about the how the weather might be in May.

    We went to the Dominican (Pueto Plata) in Feb. and the weather was amazing, no rain at all. Also we loved the Dominican and we are going back for our honeymoon (P. Cana this time) in December.

    We went for our HM 9/27/10 - 10/4/10.  We stayed at Secrets Cap Cana ...we had rain the first couple days but it was mostly just passing showers.  The one day it rained most of the day but that's it.

    FYI, Secrets Cap Cana was sooo nice!  definitely recommend it!
