Reception in church pavillion

What are some ideas you ladies can share or have seen to decorate a pavillion? This is outdoors at the church we are marrying At. I'm wanting to really dress it up. I was thinking tulle or satin draped and wrapped around the posts to create openings that would resemble the white tents. Make sense? I'll be using real silver and nice dishes, nothing plastic. I'm envisioning something in my mind, I'm just not sure how to get there. TIA

  • I like your idea of draping the posts. Something like this might be pretty:

I know it's probably more rectangular, but this idea could be applied:

You could do lighting like this, if possible and you have electricity:

It depends on the feel you want and the style/condition of the pavilion you're working with, but I think white linens would look nice.

  • If the pavilion has electricity what about string lights hung from the top. And you can even utilitze rop lighting in places too. This will also help add lightening in the evening. If you want to trap fabric I would suggest tulle over satin. Satin is heavy & can get expenseive compared to tulle. With the tulle you can even put stings of lights in the tulle and they will show through where the satin won't let the light show through. Also satin, if it gets wet will take a while to try, while tuelle will dry quickly. Don't go overboard with trying to dress it up as it is an outdoor picnic pavillion. But you can still make it very classy & elegent but maybe try to go for a more casual elegent look. You can do white table clothes (don't foget to find ways to secure with either clips or table cloth weights in case the wind picks up some).
