Cake Place in Fort Worth

My mom and I want a place that will do a two tier cake for the cutting and bridal party and immediate family, but also do cupcakes for the guests. I also want my fiancé to have a grooms cake. We are looking for a good quality bakery that has a reputation for great cakes, but also is relatively modest price wise. My budget for the entire wedding is $8,000, and the guest list is 140. Thanks in advance!

Re: Cake Place in Fort Worth

  • I'm on the hunt, too! These cakes can get surprisingly expensive. So far the least expensive cakes I've come across are at Bluebonnet Bakery ($390 + delivery for a four tier cake that would feed ~130) and Central Market (around $3.75 per slice + delivery). Bluebonnet's Italian Creme cake was pretty good, but the rest of them tasted like boxed cake. Central Market didn't offer cake samples. I didn't ask about cupcakes, but I'd be really surprised if that wasn't an option. Good luck!
  • Creme de la Creme has some affordable packages & their cakes are so good. They have a monthly open house where you can sample many flavors.
  • I haven't really cake shopped but I *think* Texas Star Bakery in Bedford has decent pricing. Not quite Ft. Worth but not too far of a drive, depending on where in Ft. Worth.

If you are interested in going with someone who does beautiful cakes out of their home i would absolutely recommend Joanna!

We got so many compliments on the cake! it was sooooo yummy
  • Thanks everyone, these suggestions are great! Wasn't Creme de la Creme featured on David Tutera?
  • Try Melissa's Cakes ... She is right outside of Fort Worth and delivers to Fort Worth venues...very reasonable pricing and great tasting cakes! tinney6804@aol.com

  • The Cake Guys has a great package deal for bride and groom cakes, I think it is called the Sweet Inspirations package. We had 130 guests and got the 120 person cake package and had more than enough (we should have gotten the 100 person deal, honestly). I know they do cupcakes as well, but I'm not sure if they have a package that includes them. And, 3 years later, people are STILL talking about how amazing our cake was!

Both are the cheapest I have found and they are delicious. I thought The Cake Guys and Sugar Bee Sweets were pricey and I'm guessing you may think the same. Cakes by Joanna is only $3 a slice. That's who I'm using for my wedding later this summer. And my sister just used A Sugary Mess, I know her cake was around the same pricing but I'm not sure of specifics.
