One of my invitations arrived open with no enclosures!

ARRRGHHHH. My invitations went out on Saturday, and for the past two days I've been getting lovely notes from guests saying they've received them. One guest emailed to say, however, that all they received was an open envelope and an invitation with no RSVP card or other enclosure cards. So hoping this is a fluke. Of course we apologized and took his RSVP and meal orders and sent him our wedding site info for travel purposes, but fingers crossed this doesn't happen to anyone else. Have any of you ever dealt with this?

    I didn't have that issue but I had problems with many people not receiving their invites.  That was very frustrating to have people call and think we forgot them when really it just got lost in the mail...

    UGGGGGH YES! Wow, for a second I wondered if I wrote this post. We've had all sorts of problems with our invites - all related to the stupid envelopes. We actually received an RSVP card a day after we mailed out the invites that looked like it had never been sealed and it was missing the RSVP card. I quickly realized one of the invites must have gotten disassembled in the mail...meaning someone either got an invite without the RSVP card or just didn't get it at all. A lot of our guests have written to say they received invitations that were already open. We definitely didn't cheap out on our invites either - so as you can imagine, I am livid. I'm sorry this happened to you, but one positive is the guest reached out to let you know some of the components were missing. I'm still wondering who it was that got an incomplete one and feel super embarrassed about it. To top it off, the ink on our RSVP envelopes is rubbing off so some of them aren't getting to us at all or are delivered to the wrong apartment in our building because the address is super hard to read. It's an ongoing disaster. Hopefully yours is just the one case though! Good Luck!

    Oh no. Now I'm gonna be paranoid until every single card comes back. FI was having trouble getting some of the envelopes to seal... he was getting them too set to stick. I should have quadruple checked them all.

    OMG, ladybird, thank you for responding. (And thanks to everyone else!) I think you are me--this is EXACTLY what happened to me. When I got home last night, I was thrilled to see six RSVP cards in the mail--only to find they were all empty, meaning they'd fallen out of people's invitations and been sent back to me! The invitation that went to my parents had no RSVP card. I'm mortified. And like you, I did not cheap out at all--spent a pretty penny on letterpress. At least the actual invitation seems to be arriving, so I can follow up with people, but what a waste of time and money. Plus it just makes me look disorganized. I've emailed the company to complain--did you do the same? Thank you again for writing--I've done tons of Google searches and haven't found anyone else address this problem. (And this is my first reply, so I don't know how to get out of this quote box, haha.) Best of luck to you!

    Oh no! What a horrible thing to come home to! I feel you on this, I really do, and feel sorry that you're going through it too. I don't think there's anything we can do except apply pressure on the company to compensate us for the headache they've caused. I've been going back and forth with them for over a week now and they've finally offered to refund us for half of our order, but to me that is insufficient. Like you said, it's mortifying. I've been emailing our guests to ask them if they 1) got their invite 2) whether it had all the enclosure cards in there; and 3) to trace over the address on the RSVP card to ensure we actually get it....not exactly the tone I wanted to set for our event. I'm sure most people think I'm being passive aggressive too about not returning their RSVP's even though we have a month before the deadline. It's just awful. I agree with you - it's a total waste of time and money. Have you had any luck with the company you went through? At this point, I don't even care about the money - I'm just so disappointed and frustrated with how our pretty invitations turned out! Best of luck to you as well and sorry again this is happening!!

    Ladybird, the company I used told me that instead of using glue stick, I should have just moistened the envelopes, so they won't give me a refund, but they will give 50% off any other stationery I buy for my wedding day. Of course, I don't want to buy anything else from them! It's true that I used a glue stick…but only because moistening the envelopes didn't work to make them stick either. Oh well.

    WOW. I would be so angry. I know what you mean though - why would you want to order anything else from them? The company I went through said the same thing at first - "we'll offer you a discount on any personal stationery you want to order..." Yep, that's exactly what I want to do - take another chance on you! I didn't use a glue stick but ironically they said that maybe I should have after the fact...these places will tell you anything to avoid taking responsibility. Best of luck to you - try not to let it dampen any excitement! :)

    I am incredibly paranoid now. I moistened all of our envelopes and they seemed to stick ok, but like PP said ... I am going to be worried until I get them all back!! YIKES.

    So sorry to anyone who has had mail issues with invites. It's so so stressful :(
