I want to fastforward this day!

Anybody else's day seem to draaag when they have something they're excited for?

I went to bed at 3 am and woke up at 730, couldn't go back to sleep. (It's my day off) Now this day just seems like it's taking forever. I have an appointment at 5:30 to hopefully find out the sex of our baby. I'm happy either way, I just want to know! So I can have the glory of shopping outside of the tiny yellow and green section.

  • Yay I hope it goes quickly for you!

"I'm not a rude bitch.  I'm ten rude bitches in a large coat."

  • Oh and completely unrelated side note, FI and I went to the drive in last night. Saw the new Transformers which was long but really good (and MMM Mark Wahlberg!) and Neighbors. Neighbors had some funny parts but I feel like the trailer made it out to be much funnier than it was. Plus Seth Rogen seems to play the same character in like every movie. But it was a fun night out.

  • My day is dragging also. Not sure what will make it faster. Work just sucks and I don't want to do it. I'm having a rebellious period.

Oh yeah, I definitely have those kind of drag days too! Those really do seem to take forever. How much longer until you're done?

I'm only 2 hours into my 8+ hour day. I hope beyond hope that I don't have to stay late today. I'm salaried and I just work until it's done or I decide to put it off until tomorrow. I hate working more than 8 hours knowing I'm not getting paid to work over 40/week. I just want to go visit my parents for Independence Day and can't wait to get out of here. I'm captive until Thursday, though.

Congratulations on possibly finding out the sex of your baby!

Ugh, yeah @lkristenjI can imagine why that would suck. I hope you get out on time today! I'm not salary but I work 12.5 hour shifts. I'm usually exhausted afterwards. Then, when someone calls off for the next shift, I'm almost always mandated to work 4 more. I cry a little bit and bang my head on the desk.

    Thanks! Hopefully baby cooperates!

I've worked 12-13 hour days before with heavy deadlines. Sometimes multiple in a row if the work and deadlines really piled up. It sucked so much! I couldn't imagine doing that all the time. I would also hate it if I had to work more just because others called in. Luckily, my job is consistent regardless of if others are here or not.

FI is hourly as a lab manager and the four of them in his department rotate weekends (someone always has to come in to do observations in the lab). Well, one of his guys switched his weekend with FI's without asking, making him scheduled to work this coming holiday weekend. Then the guy left on vacation. Since FI is the manager, I'm sure he'll get a talking-to when he returns. He switched with FI to get a longer vacation and didn't even tell him! Luckily, another of his department agreed to work it. That makes me so mad! Why do people think it's okay to mess with other people's schedules?

  • Cake tasting today! I want to speed today up to the cake part.
  • @lkristenj (quote not working for some reason!) that really sucks. I know I'd be pissed. But I actually deal with something similar pretty often. I am a little low on the totem pole, and we are self scheduling. It goes by seniority. So the other girls get to fill in what days they want first, then me, then the newest girl. I think the new girl is their little pet. They've found little loopholes to change my schedule to appease the new girl saying it was my weekend to work, or the rotation changed, or some other equally questionable bs. It's frustrating. I'm just trying to make it through my maternity leave and then I think I'll see what other openings there are in the hospital when I come back.

  • This day is dragging.  Its only a little after 11:30am here.   I'm trying to make it to 2pm.  We will see if that happens
