Barn or anything other than a banquet hall

HELP! I have been searching for somewhere different and would LOVE to have it at a barn. I live about 30 minutes south of Chicago and I don't want my guests to have to travel too far. The other problem is our families are huge so there will be 250-300 people I'm guessing. And, of course we're on a budget.

Any suggestions are much appreciated!

not sure exactly where you live but theres a place in rockford il called midway village museum.they have a barn and it is very pretty.i considered having our reception there but decided on another venue

There's Byron Colby Barn in Grayslake. Not sure what their price range is, though. The only other barn I know of is Hoosier Grove in Streamwood, but if memory serves, their capacity is below what you need.

Oak Lane of Oregon in Oregon, IL is great! Quite a bit west of the city, but very pretty.
