Reception Caterer

We are planning a wedding at a private venue in April of next year in Fort Worth.  I'm a little overwhelmed trying to decide on a caterer and menu options....there are just entirely too many options!  Not sure if we are wanting family style, buffet or a plated dinner.  Ideas on buffet vs. family style?

Also, any recomendations on a specific caterer to use that supplies good food and service?

thankis!!!

This site has some of the caterers that ladies on the board have used: http://dfwvendorlist.yolasite.com/catering.php

There are many more though that are not listed. For example, I had Reata restaurant's catering department cater our reception (at the YWCA in downtown Fort Worth). I paid something like $37 per person for a buffet with beef and chicken entrees, mashed potatoes, rolls, salad, and veggies.

Do you have a preference on plated vs. buffet vs. family style service? I initially wanted plated meals, but our guest list was pushing the max at our venue, and my wedding planner told me it would get really crowded for servers to be going around doing plated meals. Plus, the automatic gratuity would've doubled to pay for the additional servers. So that decided it for me, and I'm happy we went with the buffet.

Two good ones I know of:
    Wendy Krispin
    Glory House

Also Food Glorious Food caters some of the higher end wedding venues in town.

I ended up going with an inclusive venue who has their own catering, but if I didn't then I *really* wanted to use Blackfinn Saloon for our catering.
