place / escort cards from walmart stationary?

Hi Ladies

I am looking at the walmart stationary store to get my escort cards for the reception. However, the only option to search under is place cards - I know they are technically different (place cards at the table, escort cards to tell you what table). And I can't tell if they are the ones that fold in half so you can prop them up or if they are flat cards. (I didn't even think that was a thing, but now i'm worried because I don't see them specifically say that they fold.

FWIW, here's a link to two of the one's i'm considering.

has anyone had any experience with ordering place cards from walmart?

TIA!

  • From the specs, it appears they are flat, which I've seen at weddings. They don't need to be tented unless you like that look.
  • I've never seen flat escort cards - is that normal? Is this something I am way overthinking?? LOL

    thanks!

    A little bit.

From a stationary view they are the same thing.  I actually used the same cards as RSVPs, escort cards, and thank you notes.  The tented is much more convenient.  If you use the flat cards you will need a way to prop them up so people can see them easier.  I was a one wedding where they put them in mini picture frames that doubled as a favor.

  • Thanks! I will find some tented ones- easier than finding ways to prop them!

  • I ordered folded business cards from vistaprint and will be handwriting names and numbers on them. I just changed all the wording from a "legal" business card and filled them in with our info. They stand up perfectly and were pretty inexpensive (although I'll be left with about 100+ extra! since 250 was the smallest quantity I could buy!) My FI is a movie buff, and we go to the movies all the time, so we have few movie inspired things at the reception-- table numbers, escort cards, cake topper, and guest book.
