  I do a very similar recipe and love it.

  I should have been more clear.  It's for stocking my brother's freezer while SIL is going through treatment.  We have a bunch of meals planned, but no dessert.  I was looking for something they could take out and bake. 

  Ice cream anything won't work logistically.

  You can also flash freeze pretty much any cookie or biscuit recipe. Make the recipe as specified, lay the cookies/biscuits out on a cookie sheet, and stick the sheet in the freezer till they're hard. Then transfer them to a ziploc. To cook, remove from the bag, put back on a cookie sheet, and bake as indicated, adding a few minutes. 

  
  

  Also, also, you cake bake cookies or brownies and stick the finished product in the freezer. This is how we always stored sweets when I was a kid. If you don't want to eat them frozen, just let them thaw on the counter for a bit when you're ready to eat. Though frozen chocolate chip cookies are delicious!

  This is my favorite cookie recipe ever and always gets rave reviews.  It is super simple to make and freezes beautifully--I always make a double batch so I can stash some dough in the freezer.

  Yes, just the kind they sell with all the other ice cream toppings, sprinkles, cherries, etc.  I've used a few different brands and it doesn't seem to affect the outcome any, so I guess they're all pretty much the same, baking-wise.
